I think I might move my discussions back in here rather than clog up the Tags section with the dipshit. Especially since it appears that stalker Second copies everything I put in tag on his stalker list anyhow.

I don't know how you do it Brenda. You have the patience of a saint.

I think you've come a lot closer to Balance than you give yourself credit for.

If anything, you probably got a little too much Yin, but there's no doubt that I still have far too much Yang.

Good luck at Mahjong tomorrow. I think my old man is coming to visit tomorrow over here, although we haven't quite firmed that up yet. His choice on movies this time since I made us sit through The Surfer last time. Doesn't matter what he picks, it's going to be better than that movie was. Of that, I have no doubt.

Maybe you should. Lots of disruption in tag.

He's being a turkey and like I've said. I deal enough with that in RL. I just ignore it here. Easier on my blood pressure for sure.

Thanks for that. The older I get the easier it gets at times to ignore idjits. Although correcting people in mah jong group, I do that because it just bugs me.

Hope you enjoy your visit with your dad.

Lousy morning at mah jong. Got the booby prize which means I just got my $2 back. Oh well. All other errands done and now it warms up. Was much cooler than yesterday and I couldn't smell smoke today like yesterday. Wind blowing smoke down from Hope and the North West Territories.

Need some rain to clean out the smoke.

Hope you do have a good time with your dad.

Yeah. Had a good time. He got to see my landscaping look good for the first time since spring of 2024, and we watched a cool time-loop movie called Triangle.

We both enjoyed it. Huge improvement over watching The Surfer last time.

I should have mentioned that I left it at home. I was almost to my local mall when I noticed that I didn't have it with me.

That's great. Bet loved what you did. Don't think I've heard of Triangle.

Oh... lol.

I forget my bags for groceries sometimes. But I'm always shopping at ALDI so I can usually find a cardboard box to carry the stuff out instead. I'd never pay them a dime for a bag anyhow, but it feels nice not using plastic bags that end up in the trash when I'm shopping. The only place I don't turn them down whenever possible is Menards because they've got really nice bags that can be reused quite a few times before I use them for my bathroom garbage can.

Yeah. My dad's not the type to make a stink about things and he never said anything shitty to me when he's come over in between, but he made a big deal about telling me how nice it looked today. I gotta hang out with him more. One of the best people I've known in my life.

Triangle was good. Simple flick despite the time-loop that didn't take too much figuring to know what happened. Almost too simple for my tastes, but the pacing was near perfect and the lead actress from Australia was really good. Wrote a little more about it in the Cinema boards in the low budget thread, but I didn't want to give any spoilers. Not sure if it would be in your library or not. I'd never even heard of it until maybe 4 days ago and it's 16 years old now.

Hey, not the first time I've got out without something. Usually it is my medical alert necklace.

I don't mind paying $2 for a bag from the grocery store. I had to buy some nail scissors in another store and those I just tossed into my backpack. I've got a number of reusable grocery bags around my place, so that is good. Something small just goes into my back pack but other things that are too heavy the bags are good. If I have too many and want to donate things to a thrift store, I use them then too.

Huh. Not sure. I went in looking for Maverick and they don't have a copy anymore. Will have to check out YouTube.

I'm glad that your dad doesn't give you a hard time about things. I know what you mean. My dad was one of the best people I've ever met in my life too.

Oh.... Gotta remember that one. Lot more important than the bags. Sometimes I've forgotten my CGM receiver when I'm out and about for a few hours and that's no good either. I do have a half a bottle of glucose tabs in the glove box though, so even without the meter I know when I'm getting low and I can take some if I need it. The only problem is the highs though. My body has no way of telling me if I get too high, at least I haven't noticed any warning signs on that other than the CGM screaming at me. That doesn't happen very often though, and since I do most of my eating at night, it's usually not a problem at all during the day and if I'm really physical it's only the lows I have to concern myself with during daylight hours.

At least I've never forgotten it when I was going to meet somebody and we were planning on eating something. I don't have loose insulin and syringes anymore since the insurance won't cover that AND the pods, so without that device I have no way of changing my basal or giving myself a bolt of bolus insulin before eating, so I wouldn't be able to eat anything much but straight up meat on a plate if I did.

$2 for a bag? Those have to be the nicer reusuable ones, right? Or do they actually bill you a $2 charge in Canada for using a cheap plastic bag and not bringing your own with you? Almost everywhere here they're free, but ALDI being the "cheap" grocery store charges you for cheap plastic or paper bags too. They do have reusable ones to buy for a couple of bucks there, but the ones I have are a lot better than theirs, so I wouldn't buy them and I just look for empty cardboard boxes or trays if I forget my own bags.

Once or twice now I couldn't find any cardboard and I actually just loaded the stuff in a cart and threw it all piece by piece in my car and bagged them all up when I got home.

Worth a watch if you can find it. I think you'd probably enjoy watching Maverick another time more than Triangle though.

Yeah. Its nice. We've really kind of reconnected over the years and never run out of things to talk about. I wish things were different and he had a much bigger role in my early life, but things don't always go the way you want them too, right?

Medical alert is definitely more important than forgetting a bag or even my partial. I've done that too.
That is wow and something I don't understand about diabetes. I know I've said this before I know when my blood sugar goes low or if it is too high. That's why I have granola bars on me, incase I can feel myself going low. I eat one and then try and find something proper to eat when I am out. They are stop gap measure for me. I've tried glucose things when I was with Blair but they just at that time do anything for me. My body needs something real in it.
I do what they call "grazing" now a days. I have breakfast and my morning meds. Get over to the mall and grab a coffee and something small. Then I have lunch when I am in the mall. Get home and have a snack, then have another before supper. Meds again and something to eat then something before I go to bed.

Good thing you don't forget your GMC all the time. It sounds like you would be in real trouble if you did. I understand that about your insurance system down there but if you can function with the pods, then maybe that is better for you.

The resuable ones from the grocery stores up here and even from the Dollar stores last for a good long time. If you buy a paper bag in a grocery store it's something like maybe a buck or less. If you bring your own bag and it doesn't matter what kind of bag it is there is no charge. The charge only comes if you buy one from the store you are in like Walmart or others.

Never know about movies. Sometimes someone hates something and I watch it and like it just fine.

That's great that you are reconnecting now though. No, they don't. Enjoy these times with him.
