Soviet filmmakers believed in Communism’s messianic message, revolutionized cinematic expression, and developed a new artistic language. But their experiments were cut short by the Stalinist dogmas of “socialist realism”, he said. Russia’s current ideology is a hotchpotch of anti-Western nationalism and nostalgia for the Soviet and czarist past. “These days, everything the government commissions turns into boring crap because decent people don’t get involved,” Kurov said. “Because there is embezzlement of huge budgets, they need directors and producers who are easy and safe to deal with.” The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly

Quote:Originally posted by second: Russia's Lavrov assails West over switch to green energy (and for not paying $billions/month for Russian products) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the West on Wednesday of provoking crises on the global oil and gas market by rushing to switch to green energy and imposing pressure on other countries to do the same. "In fact, the reasons for the negative phenomena in the energy sector were the irresponsible actions of the collective West, when it decided to force ... the green transition for itself and impose the same green transition on other countries that were simply not economically ready for it," Lavrov said in televised comments. He said Western boycotts of Russian energy in response to the war in Ukraine had "dealt a serious blow to global energy security. These steps led to the rupture of historical value chains, costly redistribution of global energy flows and rising transaction and logistics costs." Lavrov said the blowing-up of Russia's Nord Stream gas pipelines to Europe last year had deprived the continent of cheap gas and made it more reliant on expensive imports from the United States. His comments were in line with Moscow's long-running narrative that sanctions against Russia have been an own goal, and that Western countries have made a grave mistake in turning away from Russian energy. The sanctions have severely hit Russian gas giant Gazprom, which has lost most of its European markets, and forced Russia to sharply increase sales of oil at discounted prices to countries such as China and India. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/russia-s-lavrov-assails-west-over-switch-to-green-energy/ar-AA1jzQLy The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly

And the total losses of the Russian army range from 290,000 to 350,000 people. The median of this range is 320,000 total losses on the Russian side. UK Defence Intelligence stated that even among Russian officials, there is probably a low level of understanding of the total casualties number due to a long-standing culture of dishonest reporting in the army. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/uk-intelligence-releases-new-estimate-of-russia-s-losses-in-war/ar-AA1kYvm1 Comrade, can you see me laughing?

Yep, laughing like a fool! Mediazona/ Meduza/ BBC (that's the BRITISH Broadcasting Company,in case you don't know) estimate the # of Russian dead as appx 37,000 as of last week. Even if they missed 10% that's appx 40,000. Even if they missed 25% (unlikely) that's only appx 45,000. Meanwhile, estimates of Ukrainian dead are in the hundreds of thousands. Three or four hundred thousand seems to be the median guesstimate. Why don't you ever address Ukrainian losses? Or is that too much brainwork bc you're not being spoonfed? - SIGNYM

It seems TO ME that they see Putin as the winner in the Great Global Contest and are throwing their lot in with Russia. You totally missed this story explaining the smiles: Saudi Arabia and Russia Win Big in Gamble on Oil Cuts (Oil Money Makes Putin Smile) Brent crude is climbing toward $100 a barrel after the two OPEC+ nations made risky choice to slice production Saudi Arabia and Russia have raked in billions of dollars in extra oil revenues in recent months, despite pumping fewer barrels, after their production cuts sent crude prices soaring. The cutbacks were a risky strategy, both financially and politically. But they appear to be paying off for the two most important members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its Russia-led allies, or the OPEC+ cartel. Price increases are more than making up for the reduction in sales volume, according to calculations by consulting firm Energy Aspects. https://www.wsj.com/business/energy-oil/saudi-arabia-and-russia-win-big-in-gamble-on-oil-cuts-9a1834c6 If the Great Global Contest is about who can destroy the world with CO2 fastest, Russians and Arabs are winning! Since I assume that events/ notices/ social media posts etc. will be missed, let's say 50,000. Now, what was ACTUALLY SAID? Bc, as always, YOU MISSED SOMETHING IMPORTANT! What they said was.... "80% of the original army in Ukraine". The ORIGINAL army in Ukraine was 70,000. 80% of 70,000 is 56,000. Sounds about right. SIGNYM

Lots of well fed and well dressed Christmas shoppers tho. No homeless in the streets, no graffiti, but Christmas deocrations and public displays everywhere So, since Russia has been sanctioned to hell and back and seems to be doing great, why would this happen?
