There now has to be a decission about guilt or innocents made. tick tock tick tock T Before the trial starts, we already know how the Senators will vote, don't we? Trump will say he had no intention of committing a wrongful act, and that will be enough cover to allow all the GOP Senators to vote Not Guilty. Trump has got no idea what the charges will be, but he has already got his statement written. The one thing Trump won't be able to dodge with a statement of "I had no intention to violate the law" will be the bill for his overdue taxes. Whatever that number is, he can't make it go away, but he will try to delay Congress's forensic accountants from discovering what the number is. Nothing is certain two.The number is 67 Senators to convict Trump. There are only 45 Democratic Senators. You can look it up: www.senate.gov/history/partydiv.htm Trump will NOT be convicted. The Democrats won't be able to get the 22 more Senators they need to convict. Bernie will vote with the Democrats, maybe also Angus King, the Independent from Maine, but who else? Nobody! What will really kill Trump is his over-due tax bill. When the bill finally comes in a few years, he will have a stroke and die. This year, or maybe next year, I can look forward to the House of Representative's forensic accountants investigating Trump's tax returns and making Trump miserable and furious. And it should be an excellent lesson to other tax cheating 1 Percenters of America. As a bonus, the resultant increase in taxes collected from the newly compliant tax-cheaters will decrease the budget deficit. You can look it up: www.senate.gov/history/partydiv.htm What was the final vote tally in the senate for Nixon's impeachment? Like T says, you don't know what will happen until you take the next step. Already, the so-called "transcript" is blowing up in his face. It's more of a farce - even black comedy - it's so bad. "Who the f*ck told him this would be a good idea to release!?!" It's a summary, not a transcript like they want us to believe, and even with that it clearly puts Trump in the cross hairs from his own words. He talks about Biden and his son and Hillary's server being in the Ukraine, and a Ukrainian prosecutor being a "great guy" even though many US intel consider him a Putin stooge and have tried to get rid of him. It's early, but it's looking more and more like he's played the same (lying sack of sh*t) gambit one too many times.

Do Right, Be Right. :)This is why the modern day Federal Government is deadlocked while the Federal Government in the distant past was not. Nobody today believes there are any time limits on their own lives, unlike Presidents who went to war, such as Kennedy or earlier Presidents who knew in their guts that someday they will die from the misfortune of disease. Today, too many Americans think they have forever to finally make the best possible decision. And thus we live in an Age of Deadlock. It is a lesson Trump has obviously not learned. Do Right, Be Right. :)6ixStringJack, I can see WHY you are not doing well in this world: You are stupid. The following editorial was written assuming Americans are smart. They aren't, which means the predictions in the editorial will not come to pass: Trump’s Death by Self-Regard (By the way, stupid 6ixStringJack, the editorial is NOT calling for Trump's death) https://prospect.org/blogs/tap/trumps-death-by-self-regard/ The just-released transcript of Trump’s call with Ukraine’s president Zelensky is nothing short of staggering. Trump’s self-regard, swagger, and extreme narcissism are all on display. You get the sense that he is so eager to strut his stuff and have the public see it, that it overwhelms any sense on his part that this particular strut could be the stuff of impeachment. And of course, the transcript can’t be read in isolation. Just days before, as Trump now admits, he withheld $400 million in military aid to Ukraine. There would have been no reason to do this except as leverage. So now we have a smoking gun, every bit as damaging and self-inflicted as the Nixon tapes. And irony of ironies, we have Trump up against another president who began as a TV entertainer. Except that Zelensky, who once played a president on Ukrainian TV, seems to have navigated the transition to actual president a lot better than Trump. There are also reports that Trump has withdrawn his efforts to prevent the whistle-blower from testifying to Congress because of pressure from Republican legislators. And this is the second game changer. As flat-out illegal behavior is documented, expect more Republicans to defect. As one who has been advocating impeachment for months, I’m always amazed at the tendency of pundits to make straight-line extrapolations from the current state of public and elite opinion. But public opinion is dynamic. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken a lot of grief from progressives for waiting so long. As things turned out, she played it exactly right. She waited until she had a transgression that the public could easily grasp, until she had the overwhelming majority of the Democratic Caucus with her, and then she went all in. (Sorry, but the public will grasp nothing.) The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly

Do Right, Be Right. :)Here is another joke from FOX News: 30 Republican senators would privately vote to impeach Trump Former Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake made a bold claim on Thursday when he said "at least 35" GOP senators would privately vote for President Trump's impeachment. "I heard someone say if there were a private vote there would be 30 Republican votes. That's not true," Flake said during a Q&A. "There would be at least 35." "I can tell you this ... one Republican senator told me if it was a secret vote, 30 Republican senators would vote to impeach Trump," longtime GOP political consultant Mike Murphy said. The joke is that in the Senate there is NO secret vote and NO private vote. Voting publicly to remove Trump would end a GOP Senator's career, but Mike Pence's career would begin rocketing into fame. I guess no GOP Senators want to sacrifice themselves for Pence and country. www.foxnews.com/media/jeff-flake-35-gop-senators-impeach-trump The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly
