I'd like to find out more. Apparently the state is trying to eradicate some extremely noxious invasive plants. What is the status of those plants in that area? Are they close to overwhelming the ecosystem?

It's like the shot-hole borer here in California. This new pest will, by all accounts, decimate between 1/3 to 1/2 of all trees. Now normally, I'm against insecticides, and have never personally used any in over 30 years - aside from the all-natural pyrethrins. But if there was one that would eliminate the shot-hole borer threat, I'd be for its use, because the alternative is so much worse.

Not enough money is being dedicated to these threats. That means that if there's anything at all, it's likely some kind of pesticide, rather than a biological control. But when it comes to the shot hole borer, it looks like there's not even pesticides. That's b/c the borer is very small, makes a very small hole, then lives inside the tree where pesticides can't touch it.
