"We're here to give you the truth, not Trump's version of it" which has been proven to be full of holes. This reminds me of when SIGNYM found a picture of Yanokovich "doing a Nazi salute!" and she went mental, "see! see!" And then we found pictures of about 8 popular, public politicians caught during speeches with their hands up like nazi salutes. It's junior high school tactics dude. Read it again G: Quote:BRZEZINSKI: Well, I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job. What from this statement, exactly, is your job Mika? Undermining the Media? Make up your own facts? Undermine messaging? Controlling exactly what people think? What is there to take out of context G? I don't even see anything in her entire statement that could be seen as a good thing she could have been referring to. If you read Scarborough's comment right before it, I don't see anything she was referencing from what he said that she could have been talking about either. Do Right, Be Right. :)

Do you think it is the Deep State destroying Trump little by little so that he can be eventually removed from office once his character has been sufficiently covered with mud? Or is it the White House spokesmen plus Trump lying as their standard operating procedure to glorify Trump's many wonderful, yet unreal, "achievements"?

She basically summed up with that little slip what I think about the MSM on both sides of the aisle. It can hardly be called news anymore. It's 95% opinion and 5% fact, if we're lucky. That's why depending on where you're getting quotes you can get two very different stories out of the exact same event.

Quote:Originally posted by DREAMTROVE: Second, I don't think there is a Trump story. It's the Washington elite's immune system against any outsider. It would have been identical if it had been Bernie Sanders. This sort of thing has been going on since at least the 60s. Kennedy, and Kennedy supporters even more so. Then the other Kennedys, RFK, JFK jr. And now Trump wants RFK jr. But anyone who isn't a part of the machine is going to be attacked by it. Doesn't matter if Trump is a financial genius or a baboon, the result will be the same.

If there's nothing illegal about it, why investigate? I agree that it looks stinky, but it's legal.

Quote:Originally posted by DREAMTROVE: Probably not a big enough fish to fry. Sinophobia is commonplace in american politics, it's easy to bat it about and get the upper hand in an argument, while pushing China around on the issue of Taiwan. The point of doing so I suspect is to keep China from increasing its hold over Taiwan by giving them tentative support, because opposition means war. I have no doubt you're right, business interest in Taiwan, however, are huge. This is about trillions of dollars, not millions, I suspect.

Quote:Inquiry by C.I.A. Affirms It Spied on Senate Panel An internal investigation by the C.I.A. has found that its officers penetrated a computer network used by the Senate Intelligence Committee in preparing its damning report on the C.I.A.’s detention and interrogation program. The report by the agency’s inspector general also found that C.I.A. officers read the emails of the Senate investigators and sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department based on false information, according to a summary of findings made public on Thursday. One official with knowledge of the report’s conclusions said the investigation also discovered that the officers created a false online identity to gain access on more than one occasion to computers used by the committee staff. The inspector general’s account of how the C.I.A. secretly monitored a congressional committee charged with supervising its activities touched off angry criticism from members of the Senate and amounted to vindication for Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, the committee’s Democratic chairwoman, who excoriated the C.I.A. in March when the agency’s monitoring of committee investigators became public. A statement issued Thursday morning by a C.I.A. spokesman said that John O. Brennan, the agency’s director, had apologized to Ms. Feinstein and the committee’s ranking Republican, Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, and would set up an internal accountability board to review the issue. The statement said that the board, which will be led by a former Democratic senator, Evan Bayh of Indiana, could recommend “potential disciplinary measures” and “steps to address systemic issues.”

Quote:U.S. directs agents to cover up program used to investigate Americans A secretive U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration unit is funneling information from intelligence intercepts, wiretaps, informants and a massive database of telephone records to authorities across the nation to help them launch criminal investigations of Americans. Although these cases rarely involve national security issues, documents reviewed by Reuters show that law enforcement agents have been directed to conceal how such investigations truly begin - not only from defense lawyers but also sometimes from prosecutors and judges. The undated documents show that federal agents are trained to "recreate" the investigative trail to effectively cover up where the information originated, a practice that some experts say violates a defendant's Constitutional right to a fair trial. If defendants don't know how an investigation began, they cannot know to ask to review potential sources of exculpatory evidence - information that could reveal entrapment, mistakes or biased witnesses.... The unit of the DEA that distributes the information is called the Special Operations Division, or SOD. Two dozen partner agencies comprise the unit, including the FBI, CIA, NSA, Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Homeland Security. It was created in 1994 to combat Latin American drug cartels and has grown from several dozen employees to several hundred.

Quote:Secret Service laptop containing Trump Tower evacuation and floor plans stolen A laptop with highly sensitive information was stolen from a Secret Service agent's car Thursday morning in Brooklyn and has not been found, according to two senior New York law enforcement officials. The officials said the laptop, which was highly encrypted and contained floor plans and evacuation protocol for Trump Tower, cannot be traced or erased by officials remotely, leaving the information at risk of being discovered. The agent described the incident as a compromise of national security, according to one of the officials.
