I'm so bummed. It was such a disappointment after I'd been waiting weeks to see it.

There's a really great movie in there somewhere. I know there is.

I've been asking Hollywood to do something different for a change, and it certainly delivers there. Even when the film goes from odd-ball comedy to much more uncomfortable territory, I was still glued to the screen and found myself wondering how the hell they were going to end it.

I think they must have been wondering the same thing while filming it too, and somewhere along the line they decided just not to finish it.

Right now I find myself thinking that if they had done something to give it some sort of satisfying conclusion that it could have salvaged the movie, but right now I'm just sitting here thinking that the hour and 41 minutes spent watching it was just wasted time.

I dunno... I'll probably watch it again on my own sometime and give it a second chance. It wouldn't be the first time I walked away not liking a movie because I was watching it with the wrong company.

After the first viewing though, it gets a 5/10 from me, and that's only because Nicholas Cage was in it. As stupid as it was, I found Willy's Wonderland to be a lot more enjoyable to watch than Dream Scenario.

I didn't hate it.

There was some political messaging in there that got a little borderline for me at one point, but when you take into account the type of people it was coming from I wouldn't go and call the flick or the filmmakers woke because it was in there. I think it was saying more about the type of people who would say the stuff that was said than anything else. At the very most I would call it politically neutral, even though I don't really feel it served any purpose being in there in the first place.

I loved the premise. Like I said in the OP, there is a really good movie in there somewhere.

I just feel like they really fumbled the ball in the third act and not only did they leave you without closure (which in itself isn't inherently a bad thing in a movie), but they made a very ill-advised change to the entire premise very late in the movie that not only leaves you without any closure, but without any real way to use your own imagination to finish the story the way that you would personally want to finish it because they forced a stupid and farcical blueprint out there that can't be ignored. And since it didn't really seem to serve any purpose all I can do is sit here and wonder why they did that.

I liked the movie. I hated the end of the movie.
