Ukraine is not in the EU, and the EU has no authority to tell any nation within the EU how it should handle imports from non-EU nations. That's why Ukraine is appealing to the WTO, not the EU.

In fact, I would say that the EU has no authority whatsoever to interfere with ANY member nations' level of trade even within the EU, any member nations' economic policy or internal affairs. So it can't tell member nations that they must open their borders to immigrants, reflect LGBTQ+ values in their laws, dictate the level of amount of trade, or impose sanctions or require member nations to impose sanctions. Remember, the EU is NON-DEMOCRATIC. It is a giant centralized bureaucracy - which I know you favor based on your devotion to the DNC/RNC cabal and transnational rule - but IMHO it should be clipped in its neverending quest for more and more power.

The EU, as a trade organization, has the authority to set standards for goods traded among EU nations. And the ECB has the authority to dictate national fiscal policies for any nation stupid enough to have adopted the Euro.
