I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

There's an awful lot of open lobbying going on, and some under-the-table pressure.

Biden* wanted Ursula Van der Crazy for NATO head bc she's full-bore neocon. But Ursula, who had been lusting for that spot for a long time, took one look at Ukraine's (so far) failed offensive and its (lack of) prospects for ever winning, decided she was very comfortable being EC President.

Biden* vetoed Britain's candidate bc Biden* was angry that Britain strong-armed USA into donating F-16s

So Stoltenberg's NATO term was extended for yet another year bc NATO members can't agree on who should replace him. He remains balls-to-the-wall neocon.

Poland is suddenly demurring about sending its troops into Ukraine, I guess watching Ukraine's western weapons and newly-trained army getting chewed up.

Rand Corp and RUSI (Royal Unified Services Institute, a UK military policy think tank) are both saying Ukraine and NATO can't possibly win. The President of Council on Foreign Relations talked to Lavrov in April when Lavrov was at the UN, to try to set up continuing contacts leading, he hopes, to negotiations.

CIA head Burns was heard throwing Zelenskiy under the bus, saying that Kiev does stuff like attack the Kerch Bridge (which Ukraine did) and blowing up Nordstream (IMHO a pure WH project) without running it past the CIA first, and "they don't always tell the truth" (Really??? Gee!!) I think that was a warning to Zelenskiy NOT to create a false flag around Zaparozhiy NPP. The USA even sent a 'sniffer' plane to keep an eye on
Zelenskiy. I'll bet it can tell ZNPP radionuclides from other sourve radionuclides. And suddenly, Budanov is 'predicting' that 'Russia' is no longer interested in blowing up their own plant!

So speaking of "fragility" and "cracks".. I think NATO is showing more than Russia. The "regime change" the neocons wanted may happen, but not where they expected.

Biden* wants to browbeat the rest of NATO to dangle membership in front of Ukraine. But I think what will happen is that Ukraine will NOT be invited into NATO. EU nations will pledge "as much as necessary, as long as it takes" but weaponry and munitions will be scraped from barrel bottoms. I'm not sure if anyone will have the cajones to offer unilateral security guarantees. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

But if it turns out that all NATO offers is words of support and some old weapons-scrapings, then if I were Russia I would just let Ukraine and NATO bleed themselves. Russia probably won't put an end to the Ukraine nation until next summer, when the USA campaign season is in full swing, and they could make sure that we Americans know that we and our allies and Ukraine are facing certain defeat.

Anyway, my $0.02. It'll be interesting to see if I'm at all right or totally and wildly off the mark.
