New Report Suggests Democrats Will Not Accept 2020 Election Loss

The report comes from a secretive group called the Transition Integrity Project. A bipartisan, anti-Trump organization, TIP was created last year by Georgetown law professor Rosa Brooks and historian and think tanker Nils Gilman, “out of concern that the Trump administration may seek to manipulate, ignore, undermine or disrupt the 2020 presidential election and transition process.”…

They worked through four election scenarios…

In only one did a candidate win a clear victory and the opposing candidate refuse to accept the result. And the loser who refused to accept the result was Biden — not Trump. That is precisely the opposite of the Trump-won’t-accept-results speculation that has dominated the media in recent weeks. Even though Trump clearly won the presidency in that scenario, “the game play ended in a constitutional crisis, with threats of secession, and the potential for either a decline into authoritarianism or a radically revamped set of democratic rules that ensure the popular will prevails.”

Yeah, let's just all keep watching game shows and paranormal shows on TV and pretend we have a clue as to what's really going on in the world.

I for one welcome secession.

Socialists can GTFO of the country and they'll lose all those electoral votes.

Then the rest of the country can go back to having Democrats that are sane.

I would not shed a tear if California finally makes good on its promise to leave. They always say it, but they never follow through with it.

It's not secession. If you had listened to the video, what this group is thinking is that they would prevail on (Democratic) governors to ignore Electoral College rules and send DEMOCRATIC electors to the Electoral College if Trump should win the Electoral but not the popular vote.

Combine that with the fact that tallying mail-in ballots takes a really long time and you can generate weeks of confusion.

The point that The DURAN makes is that even this think tank doesn't take the "Trump will refuse to accept the election results" seriously, but that don't really expain why they think so. The reason (MY reason, anyway) for not taking that anti-Trump scenario seriously is because even this think tank doesn't game-plan "what should we do if Trump refuses to accept the election results" The only plan to resist election results is their own.

Your OP mentioned secession, and that's what I was commenting on.

This is only going to be a circus in November if I'm wrong about it being a Trump blowout.

I was planning to write WHAT?
But I think I finally translated what you were saying. Gotta think on it.

Anyhow, Trump won in 2016 with 305 Electoral Votes, from 30 States.

There are now 25 States of each R and D Governors.

States which Trump won but are now under Dem Govs are MT 3, WV 5, LA 8, KY 8, WI 10, NC 15, MI 16, PA 20. For a total of 85 EV. Which drops him down to 220.
If Trump's landslide totals 355 EV, then this Election Theft won't matter.

The 10 Scariest Election Scenarios, Ranked

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/08/election-nightmares-expert
s.html

We asked 10 experts for their worst election nightmares—and how to prevent them from happening.

10. Elector Apportionment Switcheroo

Sanford Levinson, professor of government at the University of Texas–Austin School of Law, lays out a scenario where a “Republican state legislature exercises its undoubted constitutional prerogative in the next few weeks to switch from the winner-take-all format to district-by-district allocation of the vote, as is currently the case in Maine and Nebraska.” For example, if enough Democrats turn out to vote in Texas’ urban centers, they might turn the state blue—unless the GOP-controlled state government decides to split their delegates by congressional districts, which are dominated by Republicans: “Why wouldn’t the GOP-controlled Texas state government take a sure number of votes rather than rolling the dice (with winner-take-all)? That might, of course, be taken to be a sign of desperation, but … each side has an incentive to prevail by any means necessary. Florida, incidentally, is another state that could lock in a bunch of Trump votes if they decided to go district by district this year, and it is also completely controlled by the GOP.”

(In Texas, the Presidential candidate with the most popular votes gets 100% of the electoral votes, even if they got less than 50% of the popular vote. In 1992 the winner only got 40% of the popular votes but 100% of the electoral votes.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_United_States_presidential_election
_in_Texas
)
The Republicans are worried that Trump might get 49% of the popular vote in Texas, but get zero electoral votes. In a 51% to 49% election, the Texas Republicans want to be sure Trump gets at least 49% of the electoral votes.

There are 9 Scarier and more likely Election Scenarios, where Trump steals the election, at https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/08/election-nightmares-expert

In 2016, the only defectors to the popular vote in any states were two from Texas who did not vote for Trump. He should have had two more Electoral votes than he ultimately did.
