I saw trailers for this, and didn't quite get the right impression. It seemed on a trajectory of revenge, super heist type flick.
But that is just the setting, the background for this film.
I sense that McQueen films are often not comfy relaxing shows. This has a lot of story tension. If I were to find fault with this style of storytelling, it would be the lack of comic relief.

Tightly Paced, tightly wrapped story with many twists, tightly strung tension. By the end, I felt like I had watched FX again - without the Effects trickery. Good luck trying to guess what happens next.

I enjoyed the cast immensely. I never placed Lucas Haas until the end credits, it took me more than one scene to recognize Garrett Dillahunt. And more than one scene for Kevin J. O'Connor as well. I don't recall ever seeing so many strong black women roles in a film, and none seemed stereotyped. I never understand how Eddie Murphy, Tyler Perry, Wayans can portray stereotypes such that they are somehow different than Blackface before them, but no need to expect to see any of those characters here.

Yes, there was some female nudity by a previously never-nude Actress, but I felt it well worth the wait.

I really don't want to delve into the story, because I can't imagine I wouldn't leak a Spoiler.

I did enjoy the film, but expect some grit, and plan for some method of relaxation afterwards.
