America loves a winner!

To date, no official word given, at least no consensus, as to whether or not any evidence has been found. A few curiosities, but really, that's about all.

The recent 'mega structure ' around KIC 8462852 turned out to be just a crazy acting star, nothing more.

However, with all the new exoplanets being found, and many of them Earth-like, the likelihood of " life " , even if not intelligent, seems more and more possible.

So, are we 'alone' ? Were there civilizations, more advanced than ours, a long time ago, far, far away ?

I think in the next few decades, we'll likely fine ' something '. Signal wise, I mean. Space is far too vast and open to have a ship or any sort of a relic find its way to Earth.

That's my thinking, at least.

You don't think the Stargates might render the travel issue moot?

Civilizations, more advanced than ours, existed about 14,000 years ago, not very far away at all. The evidence still surrounds us to this day.

I'm not opposed to the whole "Earth Seeding" idea, but I've seen no evidence of "advanced" civilizations... And you'd think with all the mining on this planet that we'd have dug SOMETHING up by now...

Not sure what you mean by " not very far away". Here on earth, I'm fairly certain that there were human civilizations which were quite advanced, but then were lost to history.( no, not Atlantis, but maybe close ) But as for extraterrestrial intelligence? I still think that has yet to be discovered.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

OK, so maybe yes, actually Atlantis. I know I've posted the Bright Insight videos somewhere, but to the point, that's a different discussion.

As for ' ETs ' and ' Life ', some random thoughts...

Our gov't comes out and " officially " admits that the tic tac videos are ' real', but that's just it. No explanation, other than to claim it's not ours, and we don't know what was actually seen. It's just not a hoax.

OK, big news. And then... nothing. They don't know, can't answer any real questions, and the story goes away. Even though we hear rumor that the released vids are far lower resolution than the govt has, but they're not releasing THOSE because of... No one knows. They won't say. So the story goes away. There's nothing to follow up on.

SETI's Seth Shostak talks about life on Mars , of the non intelligent variety. Still huge news, should we ever get that confirmation. But here's the kicker, he sorta already DID confirm it, via the discovery from the Mars meteor from the 1990's. Allegedly the fossilized remnants of a ' Martian' bacteria. OK, so where are the living ones today ? Or any other remains ? So far, nothing. At least, not that they'll admit to, anyways.

For all our science and technology, we still have a large % of humans on this planet who believe in witchcraft and voodoo. And it's not a small % either.

The scene from Contact, where all these religious nuts and believers in magic, protest the VLA , because they think the radio message is just a big hoax by govt and ' globalists ' , is still very believable to me today. And Contact came out over 20 years ago.

We see how eager the big networks are ,even in a free society, to engage in #FakeNews, and to alter facts to fit an agenda. This is entirely of the media's making, so who can blame a large portion of the public for not believing them should we in fact ever get any real evidence.

I would love to live long enough to see that day when we know for certain, or have proof shown to us. But to be honest, the older I get, the more I question if humanity would accept it or be able to grasp its significance.
