I finally got the CoRT paje to work properly:

Befor, it had popups that played the sound clips or complete pajez for each sound, rediculous and clunky. There were actually 80 pajez there, just to hopefully play 34 sound clips!!!

I alwayz wanted it to be a nise smooth mouseover effect, but I coudnt find any programmerz who knew how, so I figured out how to do it myself.

Still need to convert the FoNS pajez to this system.

This has to be the best website I've seen in a long time.



I can barely understand English and that's my native language JO....

Explain to me again why I should learn what appears to be a mix of Russian and Klingon? :)


By the way.... I do appreciate you taking the time in your posts here to speak as close to English as you can instead of Nooalf?

I can pretty much phonetically figure out every word you say without any trouble here....

I think my biggest hurdle with Nooalf is that "X" is for thumb, or with a line through it it's for feather. Although, I do then understand why "U" is for the "A" in "Zebra", given that it also starts the world "ugly", and I assume that Z would be used to spell Xylophone instead of X?????

Honestly, I think this system has some merit. I bet if I took some time to really study all of the letterz that it would all make a world of sense in time. It's your own little Rosetta Stone. Sure beats the hell out of what I do with 90% of my own free time.


I really have to say again though how much I love the site and the pictures on it. It reminds me of the hilarity and uniqueness of the internet back in hte late 90's in my college days.





Interestingly enough, I always pronounced "Tape Measure" as "Tape Measurer".... It turns out that there is no such word as "Measurer", and you are correct. I don't know why that at all surprised me when it's obvious you've spent 1,000 times more studying language than I will likely ever do in my entire life....

I believ you actually get sum credit for the new pajez. WAY back wen I first joined here, you commented that the site looked old. I'd been hearing that for a wile so that wuz the tipping point wich started the upgrade.

I tried the CoRT paje on a netbook with Linux and the sound didnt play. Maybe I need to put the .ogg sound filez in the soundz folder.

Also a possible problem with smartfonez iz that they may not hav a mouseover function. I mite hav to add an on-click option.

Az I understand it, doing a text converter iznt too difficult, just tedious. I'd basicly be riting a Nooalf dictionary. Several uv the spelling reformerz hav converterz.

I tried just adding onclick=playclip() to the same string but it just triez to go to another webpaje.

That woud be the koolest solution kuz then vizitorz woudnt hav to go to a different paje.

I experiment on a different computer. The online paje wont chanje till I get a new version working properly.

Herez a line uv code for the ALEIN letr/pik/sownd:

Just tried taking out the a href and /a tagz and it stopped it from working at all.

On the code stuff I put in above, I changed or ommited bits to keep it from trying to do anything here. Its a big problem for me to try stuff from programmer forums bekuz they do this all the time and I usually cant tell wut needz to be altered to activate it.

Thanks for the w3 link, I'v actually been reading it all morning and I think its starting to sink in.

Just found out that I can just get rid uv the a and leave the href and it stops it from trying to go to a page. Also discovered that the /a cloze tag wuz missing from a bunch uv the piks anyway!

Now he made an even better version to replase that, but I want to get sum sorta visual effect working first. Az you can see, the piks do nothing vizable so its kinda ded looking. I want them to expand a little on mouseover.

Just uploaded the latest version. Mouseover and click works on pointer type devisez and click works on smartfonez and tablets.

I'm not so set on having a visual effect now. Its fine the way it iz and it woudnt be uv much use on anything with a touch screen anyway.

Upgraddded the http://www.nooalf.com/PRoDUKS.html paje.

Now you can mouseover or click on the text and it chanjez to regular English. Even the titlez!

I realize that it actually makes it eazy to learn Nooalf just from reading the paje, thus demotivating a purchase, but wut the hell. Its never been about making money.

The latest improovment iz that I figured out why my font embed wuznt working. I mispelled the font name SeRENITE insted uv SeReNITE and having numberz in the font-family name kept 2NQ4YQ from working. Eazy fix, I just dezignate it az TQNQFORYQ.

You can see the SeReNITE font at the bottom uv the GAT KRasR pajez.
