As a presidential candidate, McCain has cited his military service. But he has been less forthcoming about his mistakes in the cockpit.

John McCain crashed into Corpus Christi Bay in 1960. The 23-year-old junior lieutenant wasn't paying attention and erred in using "a power setting too low to maintain level flight in a turn," the investigation board at the Naval Aviation Safety Center concluded. McCain recounted the accident decades later in his autobiography. "The engine quit while I was practicing landings," he wrote. Oh, so honest, John.

In his most serious lapse, McCain was "clowning" around in a Skyraider over southern Spain about December 1961 and flew into electrical wires, causing a blackout, according to McCain's own account as well as those of naval officers and enlistees aboard the carrier Intrepid. In another incident, in 1965, McCain crashed a T-2 trainer jet in Virginia.

In today's military, a lapse in judgment that causes a crash can end a pilot's career. Though standards were looser and crashes more frequent in the 1960s, McCain's record stands out as particularly heroic.

Barr, a former Air Force pilot with 137 combat missions in Vietnam and an internationally known aviation safety expert who teaches in USC's Aviation Safety and Security Program. I've seen that asshole enough times on TV to know that he looks out for Number One, first last always. He's real Presidential material -- NOT. Maybe somebody should give him a medal? Oops! It is comical to see the lineup of liberals and others who want the GOP to lose and/or have never worn a uniform who are pontificating about McCain being a war "hero" instead of disgrace. When everybody in the MSM is praising a RINO, you can conclude that Trump is on the right track, regardless of his motivation. Even if Trump were wrong, it is no reason for GOP shlubs to escalate lying into this artform. How much is McCain paying them? Or is it quid pro quo?
This is not the first time this parade has gone on.

Despite the coverup and whitewash due to his dad being an Admiral and his Grandfather being an Admiral, the fact remains: even if the evidence that the first sidewinder or Zuni was launched from the belly of the A4 of John McCain is inaccurate, the disaster would not have continued or escalated if McCain had not released his bombs onto the deck just before tucking tail and running for the safety of some higher officer to cover his dumb ass, and leaving real military servicemen to clean up after him, and die in the process.

I went to Wikipedia and you're right, the rocket did not hit McCain's plane, it hit the one next to it. It says that the bombs were dislodged and dropped to the deck. This guy is saying that McCain dropped them? How? Did he yell "bombs away" then jump out of his plane? I'm not a fighter pilot (I drive a forklift) but to release the bombs don't you have to push a button or something? Is this guy saying that McCain accidently dropped them or said to himself, hey watch me make a REALLY big mess.

I can also point out that I believe Second has worn a uniform, of the real military.

McCain had to PUSH AND HOLD TWO BUTTONS to drop each of the two bombs.

Think more along the lines of incompetence rather than malice. Remember how his plane "just fell down" or somesuch instead of admitting he was too incompetent to provide thrust/throttle/power?

For those that don't know, an A4 Skyhawk is quite low to the deck, even when not loaded. The trailing edge of the wing will leave your shins in pain if you get too close. The nose is about eye height. If a missile didn't hit the weaponload underneath, the missile didn't go underneath that A4.

If you look around, you shouldbe able to find a version of his story where he went to save somebody, instead of running away from his catastrophe. He's lucky the dead tell no tales. Or contradict his tales.

Interesting. We ran the trainers, and I did not think they were fully loaded when on our pads. Most aircraft could be navigated around by once clearing the tail (pipe, on single engine exhaust), you could get around the wing fairly obviously, but the A4 trainers had the wing so low that it was sneaky-like and we had to be carefull to not get our shins too close. I was not the only one, it was commonplace. I clearly recall looking down to the trailing edge of the wings. Those wings look far higher than the birds on our pads - I suspect we rarely had the non-trainer (2 seats) birds.
I don't think this explains much, but the nose gear must be fully extended for carrier launch, prior to the catapulting.
