I just found a song that made me think of my first REAL love....

She's still single, at least she was like 3 years ago....

She's barely over 30 now, and although I maintain that 30 is gross, she wears it very well....

She lives about 300 miles away and we haven't spoken in about a decade. She's dedicated her life to helping people and has a Masters in speech therapy.

It's unfathomable to me that she's still single with her looks, but she'd probably say the same about me....

lol....

She might live closer to you Wish, then she does to me.

She was my step-mom's niece before they got married and made it all weird. When my dad was dating her my step mom played her music in the car on cassette tape. I remember holding hands with her in the back seat and falling in love with each other to this song when we were like 11-13 years old. We never even kissed, but we both wanted to so bad.

It still amazes me that she never got married.... She is painfully beautiful. Natural red hair without a billion freckles, and I'm not even into red-heads at all otherwise. The girl next door beauty, but "backwoods" enough to not be vain about it. I remember thinking at the time that I couldn't believe she loved me. Maybe we both just "missed the boat" we were meant to board....

I should get her number and call her up. Chances are she's single for other reasons, but wouldn't it be wild if it was because we never hooked up and nothing else ever matched up to our stupid young feelings for each other?

I kinda forgot how much I loved the few weeks we spent with each other back then. We've both probably had quite a few lovers since then, but wouldn't it be wild if we both never married because nothing we experienced since held a candle to a love that was never even sealed with a kiss all those years ago?

Music is funny like that....

Of course I knew of her since then, and I knew she wasn't married, but I never thought anything until I heard this song tonight and somehow I was transported 20 some years back to when I was an adolescent, secretly holding her hand in the back seat, wanting to kiss her so bad but too afraid to do it...

Why isn't she married? She was always so amazing and happy and kind to everyone. The fact that she went to college to get a degree helping people who can't speak right says it all... I hope she's happy. It kills me that she's not married yet. She should have like 8 kids by now.

I need to call her.
