I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

The meeting is being held high in the fortress-like region of the Bavarian mountains, and the participants were helicoptered in, above and far away from the people they are supposedly representing.

On the agenda, and I can tell you how it will probably go

RUSSIA SANCTIONS
Britain, USA, Canada, EU- yes
France, Germany, Italy, Japan- maybe
On balance: probably to be continued

ADDRESSING GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE
Britain, Canada, USA as major energy producers - NO
Germany, France - yes
Japan, as a major energy consumer- no
Italy, EU- uncertain
On balance- Some weak statement from the USA will be traded for continued sanctions against Russia

WORLD HEALTH
Everyone- YES. They will pass some very nice-sounding resolution about Ebola and other potential pandemics because - yanno- who DOESN'T like "world health?", blame the WHO for its laggard response, and commit no substantial amount of money to anyone

ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALIST TERROR
Everyone will say they need better internal security and more surveillance and better cooperation between security agencies and more intelligence-sharing, because which leader EVER thought they had enough control of their population?

The EU nations will allow they need better control of their immigrants (from Libya) and emigrants (to Turkey and Syria) without addressing how to stabilize the source/destination nations.

No recognition will be made of the big fuck-up in Libya as being one source of the problem and no decision will be reached on letting the Assad government live long enough to defeat ISIS because, all things considered, the USA would rather have ISIS alive and Assad dead.
