Most twin studies will say "Between 40-60 percent" of your personality is inherited in whole or in part. They took the answers of separated twins on life issues and compared them to come up with that BTW. You may look at your parents and even grandparents and say "Yer kidding, right??" but maybe if you had been in their shoes and in their place maybe you would have done what they did or thought how they thought...

I think inherited traits make a larger percentage of who you are, and specifically how you react to the world. Just knowing the thought patterns of different mental disorders and how similar they can be from person to person is enough for me. Maybe we are ALL just a type of computer program or robotic model...

Quote:

The idea of using twins to study the heritability of traits was the brainchild of the 19th-century British intellectual Sir Francis Galton. He's not exactly the progenitor you might want for your scientific methods. Galton coined the term "eugenics" and was the inspiration for the push to manipulate human evolution through selective breeding. The movement eventually gave us forced sterilization and the most offensive passage in the history of the U.S. Supreme Court (and that's really saying something): "Three generations of imbeciles are enough."

Philosophical mumbo jumbo calling itself well-founded psychological science based pretty much on the cognitive biases of the "researchers" running the circus and old wives tales and trendy ideas has nothing on the empirical neurosciences. That's not even getting into the assholes who try to tell us that neural impulses before the pre-frontal cortex is reached aren't a fundamental part of a decision making process.

Quantum Mechanics and our observations of time tell us that the universe has only two directions and what ifs are pointless. The present lays the groundwork for the future, and the future leaves its own fingerprint on the present.

But fatalism is a lot of gloomy obnoxious anthropocentric hooey. So take that as you will.

Also, I see you rollin'. What's a fourth rape thread on here? Let's bring on the photographic evidence. The internet has desensitized me to anything anyone would like to offer. I propose Wish be allowed to prove her point by flooding us with t3h pr0ns.

All rise. Hear ye, hear ye. The court is now in session. Honourable Judge Wishimay is presiding. All those who have cause to plea draw near and you shall be heard.

The court recognizes the honourable Mr. Nathan Fillion.
