The actual war on accomplished women. Extreme, small, vicious minority bans free speech.

Quote:

(CNN) -- Condoleezza Rice, former US secretary of state announced on Facebook Saturday that she would not be speaking at the Rutgers University commencement this year, following student protests against her appearance.
The students made accusations against her in connection with the war in Iraq.
"Commencement should be a time of joyous celebration for the graduates and their families," Rice wrote.
"Rutgers' invitation to me to speak has become a distraction for the university community at this very special time."
In an open letter to the president of the school, printed in the student paper The Daily Targum on April 30th, "Rutgers Student Protestors" cited "destruction" in Iraq "at the hands of the Bush administration."

( Though they DID pay for Snooki to speak at their esteemed university, so that should tell you all you need to know about New Jersey. )

Egads. I think Rutgers is joining the Big 10 Conference starting this year.

So, free speech means people are required to listen to people they would not chose to listen to. Is that it?

No. They don't to listen. But they should not be able to keep OTHERS from listening freely, should they desire.

Seriously, are you this frelling obtuse, or are you just trying to be confrontational because you hate Condi , as directed by your Left wing masters ?

This has nothing to do with Rice being a women, nor anything to do with freedom of speech.

I do not fear God, I fear the ignorance of man.

It all got changed around. I don't recall where my team ended up, let alone everybody else. I can't even remember if those are the 2 divisions anymore. I think Rutgers and Maryland are this year's new additions.

I like Condi. Not all she was required to do and say while representing the white house though. Case in point, her strong suit was supposedly her knowledge of Russia. Boy did she advise the President miserably there. We are still paying for it today.

I know, I know, people will say Obama didn't get it right either. To that I would just say: Look at the way Putin hated being in his presence. Does anyone besides me remember Obama suggesting Putin was like a little kid impatiently squirming in his chair?

Trust me behind closed doors Obama had his number a long time ago and Putin knew it.

Let's see -

The faculty democratically voted to express their opposition. Sounds like both freedom of speech and democracy. Apparently rappy has a problem with both.
Students protested against her speaking there. No one protested for.
And finally - Rutgers didn't forbid Rice from speaking - she withdrew.

So, rappy - once again - shows that free speech means it goes one way - people's opinions are verboten if they disagree with his own. Also, he seems to really dislike people expressing themselves democratically.

So when you support the libtard Democrat War on Women it is not intolerance against women or other races or their speach or ideas, but when we support women and their ideas, accomplishments, freedoms and rights, you call that intolerance of women and other races?

Agreed.
I'd be up for Jimmy Carter. But, uh, I can't think of any other Ex-government type I WOULD want to hear from, myself.
Maybe Colin Powell...

Oops, I'm a racist intolerant thug. Choosing who I want to listen to... I'm a bad man.

Yeah. A bunch of Left wing professors didn't want the first black SecState to give the commencement speech at their school. So what? Just because they vote on it doesn't mean the University is bound by that vote, does it ?

If the GOVERNOR of the state stood at the front door and tried to block her entrance, would you be on board w/ that too ?

Actually, I have a problem with neither. The problem I DO have is when a small ,angry mob tries to shout out speech with which they disagree. Extremely anti-American.

Why protest FOR something ? Why not just show up, with an open mind, and listen? Why does there have to be an argument ? Seems that's all you strive for, to create conflict and division, when you don't get your way.

And yes, she withdrew. It's called being classy, and not submitting herself to the lowest common denominator, the rabble and losers.

Once again, you lie and distort the issue. The only thing that's verboten by the Left is actual tolerance.

The 'democracy' of which you speak was actually just mob rule. Seems you and the 99% Occubabies are down w/ that.

Oh sure. When conservatives voice differing opinions of a black person, or a woman, it's racist, or misogynistic. When the LEFT does it, hell no, there's not a smidgen of racism or war on women, at all.

Just like there's not a smidgen of corruption in the Obama administration, huh?

Ooops, I guess THAT was racist of me to say !

It's real , if you completely ignore the issue I posted about, and introduce a totally unrelated story.

Why the hell can't you just admit these thugs shouted down dissenting opinion, like the good facists do ?

Why go ambling about for something totally unrelated ?

That's because she made a lot of money being a drunken whore. At a shitty state school like Rutgers, that's a respected career.

They may be a shitty school but they got a great name: Rutgers, I like the sound of that. I would also remind you James Gandolfini attended school there. Don't know if he graduated but hey.

Kiki seems confused. This is a Graduation. The graduating students did not vote. The faculty did, however they are not graduating (not to suggest they couldn't use an education, tho) and are detracting from the celebration which should be thrust upon the graduates. To kiki it seems the graduates are being "democratically" prevented from having a world class speaker at their Commencement Exercises by the egotistical faculty.

And some students protested. Didn't say they were all part of the graduating class, just loudmouths.
