Obamacare is a centre-right HC plan, so it doesn't surprise me that Mccain would favour elements of it. Why shouldn't a liberal candidate attack a centre-right plan? Or centre right ideas that he would later have to include in his own plan out of compromise?

Who did he have to compromise with? The Republicans had no input to the ACA. It was written and passed by Democrats.

Interesting map Auraptor, but:

1) I'll bet this counts the old emergency policies that were cheap, but offered very little protection and were healthcare insurance in name only. in other words this map shows nothing of the quality of plan people have/had, and the value for money they are/were getting.
2) It's well known that there are winners and losers under Obamacare, and that young adults may see premiums go up, while old people will see them come down. Hence why the Heritage Foundation have chosen 27 year olds.
3) Premiums go up in price all the time, so some of the increase can be attributed to that.

I would like to see the same map for 45 year olds, comparing equivalent plans, and adjusting for healthcare inflation
