Rutgers faculty protest Condoleezza Rice as commencement speaker

Rutgers University professors and students are crying foul over the school's decision to invite former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to speak at this year's commencement ceremony.

Rutgers' New Brunswick Faculty Council passed a resolution last week calling on the university's board of governors to rescind its invitation to Rice, who will receive $35,000 and an honorary doctorate for the speech, The Star-Ledger reported.

The resolution said Rutgers should not honor Rice because of her role in the war in Iraq and the Bush administration’s policy of *"enhanced interrogation techniques," such as waterboarding, the report said.

Anyone see a pattern here ? If you're an accomplished, educated black woman, you get less than a fat, drunken bimbo to speak to the fine students at this great state university.

*ETA - Dr Rice should be PRAISED for the enhanced interrogation techniques. Water-boarding and the like lead to Obama getting his sole positive accomplishment of any real significance. Be grateful.

She's a respected professor at Stanford University and her classes are some of the most popular on campus. Speaking at Rutgers would actually have been a huge academic step down for her. She's also an accomplished concert pianist. But those psycho leftist professors at Rutgers only care about their warped ideology and protecting their brainwashed flock of students from any speech that doesn't fall in line with fringe left horseshit. Dr. Rice has a long history of speaking at colleges, and she never talks about politics. She typically talks about her own life story; how she overcame tremedous obstacles and poverty to achieve success and the American dream. I guess that would be a dangerous message for Rutgers. Fuck 'em. Their loss.

Her grandfather, the son of a sharecropper, sold a years worth of cotton to help pay for his education at Stillman College. Condi grew up Birmingham, AL, during the 50's and 60's, and still went on to become incredibly accomplished. She earned her Ph.D at in political science age 26.

Her story is an amazing one. She's not only a great American, she's a tremendous human being.

I have gone through the whole prewar scenario with him... the moving goalposts, the unconvincing Colin Powell (He was so disheartened and embarrassed by the presentation that he gave the UN he quit the military and politics altogether.), the fact that the UN was doing a search ON THE GROUND for WMD and coming close to finding Iraq in substantial compliance, the closer the UN team came to certifying Iraq, the harder Bush pushed for war, how the UN team had to leave due to USA bombing, how nothing was found but useless, spoiled leftover bits from the early 80's.

Rappy doesn't hear, he doesn't care about the facts. It is an article of faith with him, one he will never ever question, despite the glaringly counterfactual narrative.

But, let that .... AND THE CURRENT UKRAINIAN SITUATION, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan... be a lesson to you. Almost everything that appears in the press is wrong. Propaganda.
