This is just too goddamn convenient for me...

Y'all may not be familiar with Siobhan Reynolds, but I am.

For those in chronic pain, the true spectre behind their suffering is often not the pain itself, but the looming shadow of the DEA, who can't be bothered to oppose the primary drug runners into this country since they're all wearing uniforms or badges (See Also: Gulfstream II Rendition Aircraft, Donna Blue, Tail Number N987SA) and when they're not busy creating bullshit fiascos often in concert with the ATF, they're often busy fucking with doctors who dare actually try to treat a patients pain, such as they even do, and with a humongous side order of racial and religious intolerance - this hits me personally since one of my primary doctors flat out will not, can not, prescribe pain meds WHAT SO EVER, period - he doesn't dare.

Bad enough that pain meds lose up to 90% of their effect if you wait till the pain sets it's teeth into you, and all too often when they finally get around to it they don't take that into account and then have this motherfuckin attitude about it when the paltry and ineffective dose doesn't work.

And of course, I recently watched a friends father die screaming in agony from stomach cancer as the same docs who kept him barely hanging on wouldn't give him a damn thing for pain - do you have any idea how horrible it is to watch something like that, knowing it's probably going to be YOUR fate if misadventure doesn't get you first ?

I live daily with pain that'd leave most folks a whimpering ball on the floor, and sometimes it fells even me in that fashion, I've spent too goddamn many hours after work curled up in misery on my bathroom floor with my tattered leg slowly dripping blood onto the tile to not be pretty fuckin rabid about it, you understand ?

Now Siobhan, she tried to do something about it, only to be crushed beneath the wheels of the very worst kind of government persecution, aided by the jackass STUPID puritan concept that suffering is good for people, something imma address elsewhere shortly, but anyhow, she stood up to them.
And since she tried to play by the rules of a rigged game, up against people who can ignore them at will, predictably she got crushed for this.

By December of last year they'd bankrupted and destroyed the PRN, one of the final defenders of the right to not live in hell.
http://painreliefnetwork.org/

And it *IS* hell - chronic pain damn near INEVITABLY leads directly to suicide, especially untreated, and often comes with a while host of psychological and physical complications, in fact that was listed as one of the contributors to the recent illness which felled me, to the point where certain of the staff slid a few painkillers onto the med-sched on the sly to aid in taking the stress off my system and allow it to fight back, an edge which *did* help, but we had to freakin hide it cause of the glorious fucking crusading dickheads of a government agency gone rabid..*hisssss*

And so, just this past week, the lady who stood up to them and fought mysteriously dies in a small plane crash ?

Oh. My. God.

I am overwhelmed with sadness. And a little fear.

America loves a winner!

Planes and cars crash. Homes catch on fire. People die.

It's sad, but these things happen.

That is a fact. But what is sad is that these folks don't have to live in pain. They are in that condition because they are being ground up in the machinery of the nanny state.

Likely accurate. Yes.

I don't really take painkillers for pain because they don't help me, but I can see how people would be angry over the loss of an important off-market off-charts source of them. I suppose that convalescing while in constant pain is not for everyone, and might even in some cases cause further damage needing to be healed in that time.

(I generally use them as an anti-nausea aid, and that's about it).

Update to this: one of the other passengers was her lawyer, Kevin - who was also the pilot.

Several folk have come forward, at least one flight instructor and an ATC staffer, as I hear, pointing out their own suspicions given that it was clear conditions with no significant difficulty factors, and that one would "almost have to try on purpose" to dump a single-engine on such an approach.

It smells to high heaven, and the FAA folks have been instructed to keep a lid on it, which is also unusual.

I doubt we'll ever know, no one else seems to care enough to investigate and I do not have the resources at this time to do so.
