Minus side: there's quite a bit in the tea party platform that strikes me as a nod to the demands of TPTB. We're pulling out of Iraq. Will we ever pull out of Afghanistan? Since we've pulled out of Iraq, why are we still paying the same amount of money into defense, shouldn't costs have gone down after that?

On the other hand, even though I have my doubts about tea party candidates truly being anything revolutionary or different, they seem to for some reason be scaring the piss out of some other nations. I have no doubt most of this fear is just easily manipulated public like ours while the higher-ups who've gotten the memo that tea party candidates will actually play by the rules use fear to control their own people.

But since I'd like to see a return to isolationism rather than the expansive foreign policy we have now, weirding out other nations is a strangely appealing option. Tea partiers, take note: this is something you're doing right. If you can throw off your corporate, government, and political leashes, you really COULD become something real and scary to TPTB. I'd like to see that happen, guys.
