From what I find, the talk of bankruptcy is just people asking the question...certainly it's not out of the realm of possibility, but I can't imagine a company that makes 60+ million dollars A DAY being able to.

Still, anything's possible, and WOULD it get them off the hook? Would it be worth it, given they can absorb whatever happens in the Gulf as "cost of doing business" easily? I dunno...
