As you know Blumenthal lied about serving in Vietnam and loves to change the titles of posts here on RWFF, also I'm sure Olbermann supports him.

The White House is wrong. They need to get the hell away from Blumenthal, and he needs to be kept the hell away from the Senate.

If you want to serve in the military, have at it. If you take five deferments and serve in the reserves, have at it. But DON'T take the deferments, serve stateside, and then try to play it up to bolster your record by claiming some sort of false bravery in an effort to make yourself more politically appealing to those who actually DID serve. It's dishonest, and it dishonors those who believed enough to serve in that hellhole, both the living and the dead.

He didn't "misspeak". He misled, knowingly. His purpose was to give the impression that he was a brave Vietnam veteran, and he's not. I know Vietnam-era vets, and I know Vietnem vets. They are EXPLICITLY clear about their service records, because the guys who didn't go there KNOW they didn't earn the right to call themselves Vietnam vets. They ALWAYS refer to themselves as "Vietnam-era" veterans. Always. And the ones I know want to flatten this jackass for his lies.

Actually, in point of fact, he's NOT in D.C.; he's in Connecticut. He's the Attorney General of the state, and has been since 1991.

But I can see WHY he thinks people are that stupid. In large measure, they are, as you've just shown.
