How did you relate to Serenity/or Firefly today?

I had a Serenity moment today.I had to elave my son at the base daycare center.I called the center and asked how the day went, and they said Wyatt wouldn't have to lay down for a nap if he didn't want to. I went to pick him up that day around naptime after he'd been there about 4 hours, and all the other children were lying nicely on their mats, not necessarily sleeping. Not my son, of course. One of the attendants was rocking him in a chair and he was hysterical. I thanked her for rocking him and she said "Oh, I was just trying to keep him quiet so he wouldn't disturb the other kids".All of a sudden, I thought of the scene in the movie where the teacher is telling the kids to lie down and River won't, and how River said something along the lines of "They wouldn't lay down". It got me thinking of deeper issues, like how kids are so encouraged to conform, and be nice to adults at all costs. My son has rules, but I don't really want to breed his healthy distrust of strangers out of him because I think too many kids when they're abused are afraid to speak up because they don't want to anger adults.
