Kelly's new weblog entry reveals several tidbits about Firefly. First, Director Michael Grossman has joined the directorial staff on Firefly. Grossman, who's most recent work was on The Chronicle and The Invisible Man for the Sci-Fi Network, previously worked for Mutant Enemy directing Angel episodes Redefinition and Birthday.

Second, guest star Christina Hendricks will be playing Mal's unexpected bride, Saffron, in the Joss Whedon written episode Our Mrs Reynolds. We're told that it's the best thing Whedon has ever written.

Hendricks, by the way, previously appeared in Angel, playing a bar maid in the epiode The Prodigal.

And, finally, we're told that 99.9% of the Firefly shoots are done with hand-helds and not with cameras mounted on a dolly. With 9 regular cast members and 12 hour shoots, it's the best way to do it, we're told.

ZICSOFT

Well, it doesn't suprise me that they'd use handheld shots for the actual shots. I remember Whedon saying he chose Radium to do the visual effects because they were able to make the virtual shots look they'd been done with a handheld camera. Everybody hold on to something!!!!!
