Likes to mess with stuffs.

It looks like Mal and the rest of the crew on the Serenity have been busy taking on odd jobs here and there since we saw them last. I just got word that they even took a job to Battlestar Galactica's homeworld. It's good to see Serenity still flying.

Note: Serenity appears about 16 minutes into the Battlestar Galactica premiere episode.

Much thanks goes to Hickks for sending us this little gem.

Wow, that's a cool photo.

Question: Are the Firefly Universe and Galactica really supposed to be connected? Or did the same company make space ships for both shows, and this is just a subtle tribute, or what?

Same VFX team over at Zoic Studios that created the effects for Firefly also did Battlestar Galactica. It's likely their little tribute. I hope they win another Emmy for their work.

Yeah, it's like the fact that the Millenium Falcon makes a brief appearance in 'Blade Runner'. Cute, I like it.

I didn't know about that. Here's one:

3 E.T.'s make an appearance in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace during the scene when the senate votes.

Serenity's cameo is a DEEPLY shiny thing!! May we see MUCH more of the lovely lady in months and years to come!

Question, DeSangro (totaly sanguine about the name, BTW): where in Blade Runner (the Director's Cut of which is a member of the exclusive Perfect Movie club) do we see the Falcon? For someone who's as fond of picking nits as yours truly, it is surprising that I missed this tidbit!

Keep flyin'!

...and vice versa. Deckers flying cop car appears in a scene of the "Phantom Menace".
I've seen a screen capture of it and it's pretty subtle, you'd have to be quick to notice it.

Oh, boy, this is embarrassing: I actually really don't know where the Falcon is in the movie; I've only just heard about it. I used to be a really huge Star Wars fan back in the late 90's before the Prequels came out, and I subscribed to Star Wars Insider Magazine and they showed the Millenium Falcon in it's cameo in 'Blade Runner'. I'm a little bit confused, actually: how many different versions of 'Blade Runner' are there, and which is the definative one?

I think that the new BSG miniseries is airing on the SciFi channel in the US on Dec. 7th. I'm sure they'll re-air it plenty times as well.

Did you know there are also Wookies in that scene also?

Pardon me for asking a stupid question. The new Battlestar Galactica premiere hadn't aired yet, right? (I understand it airs on Dec 8th.) Did you get this pic from an industry insider? Just a little confused on where this came from (and if I missed the premiere!)

Oh jeeeeez... that picture just about brings a tear to my eye.

Our pretty and brave little Serenity soaring in the sky again. Tugs at the ol' heart, sure 'n enough...

Why oh why does Battlestar Gallactica get all kinds of bucks to be on the air, and Firefly couldn't find its harbor?

Never mind. Just a detour in the journey of Serenity... she WILL fly again, with the best crew EVER.

If Battlestar Galactica follows firefly's lead and has *no sound in space*, shiny. Otherwise, we'll at least know why everyone but firefly gets their airtime...

Has anyone noticed the Imperial Shuttle in the Firefly pilot episode "Serenity" if you go to the 27 minute mark on the DVD and look at the top left hand corner of the screen you will see it.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

It will be truly shiny to see Serenity fly on the small screen again.

Just want to point out, that could be any firefly, not just Serenity. It's cool to ponder a possible, yet improbable crossover.

Check this guy out, he's pretty ruttin crazy and I reckon more than a little annoying, but his ideas make some sense

Here is an easier crossover idea than the one presented above;

The Firefly/Serenity 'verse and Battlestar Galatica 'verse are in fact happening during the same period of time. Now in Serenity we learnt that humankind left Earth and that doesn't mean that they stuck together and went to the same places. Also the fact that both societies see Earth as a myth or legend rather than fact would suggest that they have been gone for hundreds of years. And that would mean hundreds of years apart that these to human societies would have been since they last saw each other which would explain why they have taken different directions in cultures and technology etc...

Now what would be interesting if Serenity went looking for Earth-that-was and ran into Galatica that was looking for the same thing.

But we all know that would never happen.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

There are a lot more ships seen in Galactica if you look for them. For example in the miniseries (I think) in the closing shot of the Rag Tag fleet, if you look waaaay in the background, you can just make out a Constitution Class Starship. There's a few others according to the guys at Zoic, you just have to look for em.

Also in the fleet scenes, there are a few fireflies here and there. I'm not for sure which scenes, but I've seen them.

Here's an article for it: http://www.brmovie.com/Locations/Falcon.htm

Actually it's a little different than the Firefly being in Battlestar. The Falcon was a prop being made just for fun, and it ended up being used as a building in Blade Runner.
