Some early stills of Mena Suvari from the upcoming NBC series, 'The Cape', which stars Summer Glau. Premiere is set for early 2011.

America loves a winner!

Always kinda found her intriguing.

Cool, I've always liked her. She's that special kind of woman that's handsome (for me that's much better than pretty) it's a quality that will last through her life (think Raquel Welch, Sophia Loren, Morena fits in this category, and Gloria).

I was quite impressed with her in American Beauty. She showed a range that was.....well, impressive. How much of that goes to the actor and how much goes to the director. Ahhhh, there's the rub.

So far, I like what I've seen of The Cape. Having Summer in it is all the convincing I need, but it's nice to see that they have something more. But Mena is a good addition, too bad her career has been relegated to fits and starts.

Hello,

Well, the director can't squeeze blood from a stone. If an actor ever gives a good performance, I generally assume they have talent. When I see good actors give bad performances, I know the director wasn't doing their job.

So, to me a good performance consists of 'talent, properly directed.'

True that! I've heard many an actor say as much during interviews. Actors often need that guidance and direction, sort of like a traffic cop (I know bad analogy).
