Having nothing better to do, I made up a shopping list for Mal next time they land on a world closer to the core:

1 - Spare catalyzer (or 2 or 3). Wouldn't want to run out of gas again.

2 - New compression coil. I bet after OOG Mal takes Kaylee more seriously when she says the ship needs something. Ain't that right Mr. We Don't Depend On Luck Not Ever?

3 - Some frippery for Kaylee, cuz she's just so darn cute.

4 - New helmet for "Vera's" pressure suit.

5 - High caliber weapon that can be fired in a vacuum.

6 - More plastic dinosaurs, you can NEVER have too many of those!

7. New security alarm for Serenity. Can’t have people breaking in at all hours of the night again now can we?

8. Counselor on tape for Zoë and Wash in case their frequent marital spats threaten to get in the way of work again.

9. A fire extinguisher. Lot easier to simply put out the fire than let everything that's not tied down in the cargo bay get sucked out.

10. Wedding ring. Wear it on the rim planets to keep wedding bells from ringing in any single girls ears.

11. Miss manners book on appropriate core behavior and rules. "#1. Do not punch out expert fencers at parties! This results in a duel and you can just kiss your ass goodbye 'cause you ain't gonna win." <-- Miss manners is quite rude isn‘t she?

12. Printed record of Jayne’s past so no more surprises pop up.
