I am completely new to Firefly/Serenity. I watched the movie last week based on seeing it on several "listmania" sci-fi lists on Amazon.com. I bought the series yesterday and watched the first 3 discs back-to-back. Awesome..... Anyhow, I am making some assumptions here, but it seems that Fox owns the 1st(hopeful that there will eventually be a 2nd) season of Firefly. FX is a subsidiary of Fox. FX has, in my opinion, the best 3 shows on cable TV(Rescue Me, The Shield, and Nip/Tuck). They are all very well written and edgy. I think that Firefly fits the same mold. FX still lacks enough original programming to fill the 9/10 pm time slot 7 days/week. Firefly season 1 is already bought, paid for, and "in the can". They(FX/Fox) could put Firefly in a prime-time slot that is currently taken by re-runs of "Cops" and the like. It would cost them nothing more than promotional expenses. They could surely get just as much ad revenue as they do from the syndicated re-runs that they show now, just based on the grass roots internet lobbying that has been going on and is easily documented. Any thoughts????????

Hmm....1st time I've seen FX mentioned here. Everyone seems to mention the SciFi or new CW as possible networks.

Wash: "Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction." Zoe: "We live in a space ship, dear."

you make a great point... plus, they already have a built in joss whedon fan base cuz they show buffy reruns every day.... but yeah great fit... and maybe it would actually get emmy nominations cuz it would then be an "edgy cable show".... as long as they don't make it tv MA for no reason.

I'm a leaf on the wind

You know, I thought of this same thing when they canceled the show. Why not just move it to FX? The show could be even better on FX with less restrictions than a broadcast channel! Hey, they could swear in english (although I love the chinese, as I'm sure everyone else does as well...)

I think it would seriously take away from the show, if the charecters swore in english.

If you play Nationstates.net check out the region Firefly.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

I think it would seriously take away from the show if they tried to make it for US$200K per ep, instead of the US$2Million that the FOX Network was paying.

Keep the Shiny Side Up . . .
