BUZZFEED.COM - Because Firefly fans need more reasons to be mad at Fox. After years of satisfied customers, online stores selling hand-knitted replicas of the show's iconic “Jayne hat” are being forced to shut down… and fans are upset...

There are 2 threads on this, but I liked this article.

Funny how Fox didn't care for years, then suddenly they do. It's a freakin' HAT! Hardly a trademark item.

However, you'd need a fortune to take Fox to court. This is the network that went to court and WON on the issue of intentionally lying and calling it "news."

OLDGUY

What Would Mal do ?

ok... I really do get the reasoning...but I still have to toss the rant into the ring..

so..let me get this straight..a multi-billion dollar network that's sold broadcast rights on some decade old looser TV series that didn't even make it out of the first season and didn't warrant even playing the episodes in order..somehow just can't tolerate the idea that a few geeks think it's fun to knit some really stupid hat and make some lunch money off of it?

wtf?!

you'd think someone at the big F would maybe partner up with this bunch of lonely nerds and leverage the group towards some new TV programming instead of continuing to alienate.

I've watched a lot of big label music and broadcast product battles through the years but I'm not sure I've seen many a case where the suits were so dang determined to squash a product and fandom...what is it that makes it such a thorn and threat?
"do you all know what it is your carrying ".....
