Just got a copy of the special edition DVD for Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension. It has deleted scenes and an alternate opening. They mention the possibility of the sequel being made. Of course they have been saying this for years. So my question is this, who do you see taking the place of the original cast? Who do you see as Buckaroo?

Actually, I've been told they already made this movie. They changed some bits around and called it "Big Trouble in Little China". Buckaroo became Jack Burton, etc.

If, however, they do finally make another one, and choose to go with a younger cast, I don't know. They should probably choose someone who is actually at least part Asian, though ... preferably part Japanese.

I have heard that rumor but it is not true. Richter, the director of Buckaroo Banzai was involved in rewrites of Big Trouble, but the original screenplay was unrelated to Buckaroo.
