I think this whole release is nothing but a really poor attempt @ humor and Marvel's way of trolling their long time fans who now they seem fit to openly mock.

If not, then they join Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who and others who have inexplicably decided that it's a great business plan to shat over the very folks who built your empire so as to virtue signal to today's woke kids, who have zero interest in actually paying for your garbage.

I heard that ShoeOnHead tweeted that Marvel was baiting the nerds on YouTube with that video.

She could be right about that. It seems just too far woke to actually be a real thing. Honestly, something like that would have been funny if it were released on April Fools Day.

The really funny thing is that they're getting what seems to be an equal amount of hate about it from the SJW Twitter crowd too. Another "white male ally" putting out something like this that really is only embarrassing the people they're white knighting for.

People are so damn sensitive these days that if Marvel was just trolling they've shot themselves in the foot with this troll. No matter what they were actually thinking before releasing that video they lost the PR war there either way.

Love me some Shoe. And her boy too, Skeptic is pretty cool. Alteori is of the same opinion... it must be a total troll job.

But why ? Easy enough to piss of the folks you've already been mocking. Sales of comics, which clearly is what this is, are in a nose dive. There's zero win here from a business standpoint.

But flip the coin and pretend you're a part of the woke crowd. Is THIS what you really want? Ridicules story writing that , if it were real, is nothing but nonsensical pandering ?

And what happens when - yes, it's a joke. Fooled you! Now what do you tell that tiny faction of a faction of comic book fans who - god help them, got their hopes up?? This is as cruel a joke as anyone could have pulled on the actual snowflakes who cried at the last election because SHE didn't win.

Yeah. I don't think it was really a troll. I think that's probably giving them too much credit in the first place... and then everything you said on top of it. Where's the ROI?

At the same time, I can't blame anybody for thinking it is a troll just because it seems like a parody of their own ridiculous behavior it's so bad.

I sent it to my old man and his reply was hilarious and really sad at the same time. Something like "This sucks. Don't bring it up again. I'm too old to have stuff like this in my head."

Though he grew out of it many years ago and never really got into any of the new movies, he's got a pretty epic collection of old school comics. So epic, in fact, that he used to give us some of the less epic ones for Christmas when we were kids that today are probably worth a few thousand bucks combined each.

I got this one, in pretty decent shape. I think out of the batch I got, it was the most valuable one for the condition it's in.

Yup. I think that's the general consensus.

I'm sure there is somebody in a dark corner coming out and defending it, but it doesn't appear like it's popular with anyone.

If it actually does get a release, it's going to be funny watching it tank like so many of their recent books have.

Not so funny for the comic book shops that are forced by contract to carry them and eat the losses though.

We should start a comic book shop man. Call up all of those guys from ComicsGate and sell their books exclusively in the shops. No Marvel or DC garbage allowed.

Let's put a pin in that idea until after the COVID panic subsides.

Like any of the other nerds on YouTube I can only listen to so much of it, but I like getting stuff from different perspectives and when any one of them come up with a video title that sounds interesting and isn't obvious click bait I'll give at least part of the video a watch and stick around to the end if it's interesting enough.
