was so bad that I couldn't really get into it. Part of the reason I
thought this was the casting of Charlie Day. Just about everything I've seen him in he rocks, but here they asked him to play tough, seriously!?
It was a waste of his talents.

When I saw the trailer it made me anxious to see it. I mean, Sofia Boutella,
that bad ass, in this movie. Dave Bautista, another bad-ass, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, Jodie Foster. Then you have Sterling K. Brown (that guy from
"This Is Us"). Come on, who wouldn't salivate at the mere mention of these
talented actors under one roof. But actors need words and direction; and a
good script. But I was determined to go see this movie regardless.

It started out promising, but I found myself waiting for something truly cool
to happen, and boy was I disappointed. There were some scenes that I thought "okay, here we go," but then it would fizzle out. I got the feeling
that this movie took itself too seriously. When Jeff Goldblum enter the fray,
I thought, "okay, now...here we go." But even he couldn't save this movie. He looked kind of bored. In Ragnarok Jeff Goldblum practically stole the show,
so I thought here he would "kill." Didn't happen.

If it was me directing this schlock, I would tell both Goldblum and Day,
go nuts. Improv to your heart's content, then maybe it would breathe life
into the script. Don't get me wrong, Bautista and Day, hell even Foster had
some good one-liners. But they were few and far in between. To me, the
stand outs were Brown and Boutella. Bautista too. But the direction was weak
and rather uninspired. Dude, you have all these amazing actors under one roof;
kick ass!

So script and direction. Otherwise a great idea (someone in Hollywood thought
it was worth a shot), but it was done better by the team behind John Wick.
I think it will kick ass on Netflix. Wait for it to show up there.

I didn't remember the name to this movie, but I actually do see commercials sometimes on break at work these days and saw that Charlie Day was in a movie that seemed far out of his wheelhouse.

I might actually give this one a watch just to see him in something different.

The dude is brilliant.
