I didn't break any rules. If enough people report you (even if you did nothing wrong), the algorithm will just toss you off. There is no recourse, and you can't call or e-mail to complain. I tried to use the help section to contact them, but it won't let me.

At least, that's what I've heard. I can live without it, but why should I have to?That just sucks.

Anyone have a similar experience?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I resisted Facebook for a long time but finally relented, since it seems everyone and their dog is there, but I've regretted it multiple times. If you don't know what got you kicked off I can't imagine what it might have been.

You need to contact someone who had been on your friend's list, that is if you have another way to reach them. Maybe they can inquire for you.

I signed up for an account just to access stuff on the web, but I have no posts, pics, or likes.

The LAST thing I want is yet another way for people to get ahold of me...

I had one account taken off, but it was my old e-mail address, so I started over. I was once asked to identify pics of friends, and a few weeks later I was reported for nudity for my AVATAR. This was my avatar. FB told me I was cool.

This stems from my participation on a debate page, I think. There are gangs of trolls who will report people they don't like. I think it all goes by algorithms, so if you get reported enough, FB just decides you must be doing something wrong, even if you aren't.

They have no customer service, no e-mail, nothing. Just a big faceless machine. My attempts to get my problem addressed simply got "We can't process your request at this time."

It sucks because I did use it to stay in touch with friends and family, and to keep up with news, etc.

However, we all know FB is used to spy on people, etc. I'll just live without it.

What is the address of that debate page? I'm curious about what debate would sink to slandering you.

Vegans vs. Meat Eaters (Open Debates) 2. I'm a vegan and the page is loaded with obvious trolls and fake accounts.

Whatever you think about it, there are people with a vested interest in making sure people keep consuming animal products. There are several similar pages, all started by people who didn't fare well debating the vegans.

I would think that most people who don't like it would just leave it alone, right? People who are on there every day attacking vegans have a little more going on than just thinking it's silly. The first page (not 2) was shut down a while back. Several other vegans have had their accounts disabled or even hacked (2 admins have been falsely quoted saying racist things they never said).

If I had it to do over again, I'd stick to birthdays and pics of kittens. Advocacy puts you at risk.

I understand that ranchers can act crazy about their business, sometimes going to extremely bad behavior. Oprah Winfrey got in a multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit with Texas cattlemen in Amarillo. – www.cnn.com/US/9802/26/oprah.verdict/

If Texan ranchers are willing to file a false lawsuit against Oprah, they won't think it's wrong to falsely slander you to Facebook.

I remember that very well. They want everybody eating their product and woe be to anyone who doesn't.

In any sort of debate, you'll get people who defend the status quo, because it's working fine for them. Ranchers are particularly fond of their subsidies and monopolies. http://www.alternet.org/food/ranchers-and-activists-agree-its-time-sto
p-big-beef-subsidies-0

I don't want to debate veganism here. We could start another thread if anyone cared. It just bugs me that people would go so far to silence debate on a rather harmless practice.

Agricultural lobbyists are pushing legislation that would outlaw undercover investigations and videos. According to CNN, three states—Idaho, Missouri and Utah—have passed “ag-gag” laws, while another 14 have considered them. http://ecowatch.com/2014/06/27/buried-alive-chickens-investigation/

Idaho and Wyoming call for jail time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ag-gag

Lucky for you the Facebook trolls can't get you jailed. Yet.

Probably a committee of lawyers working for agricultural businesses are drafting a Facebook law based on anti-terror law. https://news.vice.com/article/canadians-protest-proposed-anti-terror-l

Ag gag laws are brought to us by ALEC, the organization the Kochs use to craft legislation which they lobby for, particularly in red states.

They're also behind all the "stand your ground" and "freedom to discriminate" laws passed in such states. Here in Indiana, right wing Christofascists just passed such a law.

You could probably be kicked off Facebook for disrespecting the seafood industry.

Today I saw this unhappy story about the industry being shocked, totally shocked, that their fishermen are slaves and their fishermen die to bring you delicious shrimp and sushi. www.csmonitor.com/World/Asia-Pacific/2015/0324/AP-investigation-Are-sl
aves-catching-the-fish-you-buy

The slaves interviewed by the AP described 20- to 22-hour shifts and unclean drinking water. Almost all said they were kicked, beaten, or whipped with toxic stingray tails if they complained or tried to rest. They were paid little or nothing.

Runaway Hlaing Min said many died at sea.

"If Americans and Europeans are eating this fish, they should remember us. There must be a mountain of bones under the sea," he said. "The bones of the people could be an island, it's that many."

This quote is yummy:
Quote:

In the past, former slave Hla Phyo said, supervisors on ships simply tossed bodies into the sea to be devoured by sharks. But after authorities and companies started demanding that every man be accounted for on the roster upon return, captains began stowing corpses alongside the fish in ship freezers until they arrived back in Benjina.

"I'm starting to feel like I will be in Indonesia forever," said Phyo, wiping a tear away. "I remember thinking when I was digging, the only thing that awaits us here is death."

To sadden our hearts let's end with a cartoon about Firefly from, of all places, FaceBook!

Why Europe says you shouldn’t use Facebook:
Don’t use Facebook if you want to keep the NSA away from your data

The European Commission admitted yesterday that the US-EU Safe Harbor framework for transatlantic data transfers does not adequately protect EU citizens' data from US spying. The European Commission's attorney Bernhard Schima told the CJEU's attorney general: "You might consider closing your Facebook account if you have one." –

I maybe possibly have a facebook account somewhere, I guess it might have some kind of personal details but I rarely ever log into this account. Even when my social stuff was buzzing even when I worked with wiring and lights and the arts I never really used it, I would say i read it got hacked and people lost their passwords...I always gave an excuse like it has too much spam or I didnt have time for it, I prefered to have people by phone and meet them the old fashioned way in real life. It's harder to travel around and meet people acorss the world with the global lockdown going on but I will still limit my facebook use.

Politics - you get some personal opinions of mine here, jokes, troll posts, debating here. Some people are dumb enough to give Zuckerberg all their personal opinions.

We all know why Reaverbot was kicked off of Facebook.

I wonder how many people per day he was telling to kill themselves because they enjoy a cheeseburger.

Legal Experts Tear Apart Trump’s Lawsuit: ‘Every Bit as Stupid as You’d Think It Is’

On Wednesday, ex-president Donald Trump held a press conference to describe his new class-action lawsuit against Google, Facebook, and Twitter over “illegal, shameful censorship of the American people.”

Naturally, the punditry and #Resist crowds had the snarkiest and strongest reactions, but limiting the reaction pool to just experts yields nearly the same general tone: mockery and disdain.
