If you want to call this proof, here it is.

The field headers look like they're written in Chinese and can't be read without a spectrograph, but a one-time discussion brought us to the conclusion that the "19dec00" field denotes River's date of birth. Anybody wanna help me hunt down the fortuitous prop-maker who made this, and get it out of him (not specific as to how)?

I only see three dates on there, 19dec00, 22aug15 and 4jun18. The body says that she was admitted in 2515 (that'd be the 22aug15), so presumeably the 4jun18 is when simon got her out, so definately 19dec00 indacates that she was born on the 19th December 2500, (which also ties in with the fact that she's "A mentally traumatised 17 year old girl" (born on 19th dec, so anything before that date in 2518 and she's still technically 17), so HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIVER TAM!!! (Yes, We know that day is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles, which isn't applicable to you, but so what, it's still an excuse for cake!!! (No GLaDOS involved for all you portal fans out there

))

Those dates don't seem to jive with the other established dates of BDS or BDM.

The Pilot states River-in-the-Box is 17. The introductions for the first 3 broadcast episodes reportedly state it is 2517 (I have not seen these yet), -edited out incorrect ref.

All of these seem to agree that, if River's birthday was Dec 19th, then it was in 2499.

Also, nothing would make 2517 (dates when River is aboard Serenity) consistent with a 2518 escape date.

Well, if you really wanted to be picky about it, she's more like 20.

If she was 17 at the time of the BDM (two years ago) turning 18 at the end of that year....well, there's already an overabundance of confusion over the timespan in the series, so let's put the picky aside and rub soup in each other's hair.
