Browncoat Cruise?!

This may've come up before, but apparently there's a Browncoat Cruise being organized to depart from the west coast this December, sort of a floating Firefly/Serenity convention with all the usual cruise perks! I stumbled upon the website at browncoatcruise.com, and my wife and I were considering going... However, the reservations have been off-line for about the last month, and we're starting to feel like it might be a little shady. It sounds too good to be true, so I thought some investigation was in order.

Anybody going on this, or know for sure that it's legit?

From what I've heard, it's not shady. It is being arranged by the same fine folks who brought us "Done The Impossible"

There have been several threads here, and over at whedonesque on the cruise. I would suggest googling for them and find out what others are saying.
I think they were having trouble coordinating reservations online with the cruise company - but I'm not sure.

From what I have gathered it is all on the up and up. Just a bunch of Browncoats trying to plan a cruise at the same time.

I read over on Jewel's myspace blog that she is considering going. But who can say for sure if it pans out.

FOLLOWMAL

As my friends have said, it's definitely on the up and up.

It's being organized by the "DTI" folks and last I heard help was being offered by the CA Browncoats who were the ones who amazingly pulled off B3 when Booster Events failed to deliver Flanvention 2.

I'm sure the reservations thing is only a temporary glitch... they'll get it ironed out.

I think that this board might be a good place to go ask questions, in fact I think you'll find all the info you need there and also it's a great board to join and belong to!

Have fun! Alas.. I won't be doing the cruise but I can't wait to hear all the Browncoat cruise stories as they start pouring in come December!
