I have been a lurker at this site for a few months now, and decided I had to make myself known. I have been a fan since the show first aired on FOX, and have remained one since then.

I have read the numerous posts on how we can try to get our beloved show back on the air, and just wanted to post the email I sent to Sci-fi after their Firefly marathon:

Thanks for showing the Firefly marathon on Friday, July 14. I watched the original series aired on FOX, and watched them again (and the unaired episodes for the first time) on your network last fall before the release of Serenity. And once again while working at my home office on Friday.

I have watched Sci-fi for years. I have really enjoyed your original programming such as Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG-1, and many of the movies and miniseries you have produced.

As a fan of your network, and of the show Firefly, I hope you decide to work with Joss Whedon and his production team to bring the many fans of Firefly/Serenity new episodes of one of the most unique shows that has ever been aired on television.

You have, no doubt, by now seen the interest of the fans that still clamour for more stories from the "verse", from your own message boards, to the hundreds of websites dedicated to the show and cast, and the recent charitable effort of thousands of "browncoats" to have Serenity re-screened in theaters around the country, and indeed, around the world.

Sci-fi would have a built in audience for new episodes, and that audience would only grow as more people are introduced to the story.

In conclusion, thank you for re-airing, Firefly, and if you are looking for a new show to produce for your network, you could do far worse than making new Firefly episodes!

Funny you should say that. I am actually sitting here with a glass of Black Bush Irish whiskey.

A few cubes of ice, a jigger of whiskey, and just a few drops of water to mellow it out.

And I am ready for that coat!

On behalf of those of us who do not reside in the US & so do not have the SciFi channel - thank you for your thoughtful email to them! It is so easy for people to 'complain' and dwell on the negative - that you have done a really positive thing shows just how much you are already one of the family!!

Awesome letter you wrote there, that is exactly the kind of thing we need. Did you go over to the SciFi/Firefly board and register too? I think since Universal is affiliated with SciFi that it can only do good for all of us to make them aware with letters, emails and becoming members over there. They are our hope, whether it be a return of the show, a mini-series or another movie.

Sounds as if you came ready to take part and we like that.

There's lots to do and we need all the help we can get.

Great message to SciFi there!

I do have one teensy criticism, if you don't mind. It's the phrase "one of the most unique shows". The word 'unique' means 'one of a kind'. A thing is either unique or it isn't; nothing can be more or less unique than anything else.

Other than that, it's a beautiful email and I hope it (and many more like it) will have the desired effect.
