congradulate me, people the other day I just converted a friend of mine to the way of the brown coat. we were discussing TV shows when I saw serenity on the nearby rack picked it up and said that if he wanted good TV he should look into the series that the movie was based on

Yay me

why should i sign it? why must something go in the signature box at the end of every post ?

I'm in the same boat - I've got a coworker through the series and persuaded him to join me at the Serenity Saturday in PA this weekend, and another coworker is up to the Train Job so far (don't think he's going to make it through the rest of the episodes in time to join us on Saturday though).

Keep spreading the word! :)

*sigh* So far all I've been able to do is make some beigecoats. People who say, "Yeah, that was pretty cool," and then don't ever mention it again. Me, I cannot understand that mentality at all, but oh well.

Well, Grizwald, you're doing better than I have with my wife at least. I got her as far as the Train Job, she admitted that Firefly was "watchable" and she "didn't hate it" and actually wanted to see more - which for her for a science fiction show is HUGE - but now she won't watch any more because I'm "too obsessed".

She hasn't read the latest Harry Potter for the same reason...

If only I'd waited a few more episodes before letting my obsession show, maybe she'd be obsessed too by now! But... have you ever met a browncoat who could keep their obsession silent?

Oh well. Can't win 'em all, I guess.

When I try to convert people I just show them the movie

its about 20 times better than any episode of the show

I think showing someone the movie first might be the easiest way of making a convert - if only because it's a lot easier to ask someone to sit down to a movie they've hardly heard of than to an (almost) entire tv series.

I saw the movie first but wasn't at all hooked til I saw the series.
