Where: Chuy’s Restaurant
2500 New Stine Road, Bakersfield CA

When: 6:00 PM – Midnight, March 25th

Why: Do Browncoats need a reason to have a shindig?

How: Any way you can.

I'd love to come to one, except that until we manage to home-grow some more Browncoats, I think it would just be me and my family coming from the NE corner of Iowa.

It all depends on what you set them up for. The SF group meets at a cafe every month just to hang out. They also plan parties and other similar gatherings on a regular basis.

Here in SoCal we plan picnics, restaurants, scavenger hunts, murder-mystery parties, and pretty much anything we can come up with. Since it's such a large area there are a lot of things to do. But mostly we gather at these to be able to see each other in real life, talk, trade stuff, etc.

There's no real set definition of a shindig, except that it's where Browncoats come together.

We're planning one in Long Beach in early May. And there will also be one in Temecula in April. Join the SoCal board for details, or keep an eye for announcements here.

If you want to plan your own shindig. Make sure you join the group to let us know. We have plenty of members in OC who try and make it to local events.

Temecula? Now thats not far at all for me, could be i might just have to see what all these shindigs are all about. Any chance there will be anything in San Diego? Oh, and does Firefly usually have a booth or event at ComiCon? I always go but this year will be the first as a browncoat so i never noticed.

EDIT: Sorry Danregal I just read your other thread that answered ALL of my questions lol. Thanks i probably wont make it to the scav hunt but ill probably see you guys at comicon.

No problem, but if you haven't joined the group yet, definitely would be a good idea. We do have monthly shindigs, but all over SoCal. And stay tuned for announcements about our Comic-Con fan tables. We have big plans...
