Has anyone read "The Years of Rice and Salt"? It's a historical fiction about what the world would have been like if the plague had killed off 99% of Europe in the 1400's instead of 25%. It drags a bit at times I think as I kept wanting to see some kind of progress with the characters, but it is really a good book.

Not so much the "changing history" part, but the dominance of China as a world power made me think of FF.
