Has there been any more news on the progress of the movie? Surely something else has happened; it's been months since we first heard Joss was shopping the idea.

I don't think he's finished writing the script yet. He said that after he completes the script, he will think it over to see if it's really good or not before trying to shop it. And then filming would possibly start in May 2004.

I'm not totally sure how the DVD production process works, but I'm under the impression that most of the material is in place several months ahead of time -- I'm a little skeptical that we'll be able to learn more about the movie from the DVDs than what we know now.

On the other hand, if there is some big news soon (fingers crossed), it would definitely be odd NOT to discuss it on the DVDs.

FFYING2

Someone posted over on the Fox board that James "Spike" Marsters was at Dragon Con 2003 this weekend and said publically that Joss is writing the script now.

There was also a *rumor* that we won't know anything about production for sure until around Christmas time. My own hope is that, if we have to wait that long, the announcement will coincide with the DVD release.
