You may recall about 8 months back, I asked fanfic writers to contribute to my mod for EVN ( http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/evn/ ), Escape Velocity: Firefly, by writing up paragraph descriptions of any planets/moons you invented for your fanfics. The response was very good, and extremely helpful.

Well, I'm asking for help again. We (GunRunner and myself) are writing storylines now. If you've like to help out on a current storyline or introduce a new one, we'd certainly appriciate the input.

(Storylines aren't all we're doing. Any ideas you have for outfits, etc are welcome as well.)

I must caution you, you will not be able to write just anything. We have a framework which needs to be worked within. This mod takes place between Serenity Valley and the series, and to date, we're still well before Mal buys Serenity. Stories have to take place from Mal's perspective, and be written in the second person. ("You return to the ship, and...") Also, although it's possible to do scenes in space, the EVN engine is designed around most writing-based events happening on the ground. So keep that in mind.

There is a set of characters in place for the current timeframe, but if you'd rather set stories at a different time, I'm sure we'll be able to incorperate most of them at some point.

You can either do the writing yourself, or you can simply help us develop our outline. I will be the final editor on everything contributed, to make sure it has a consistent voice.

(Actual writing begins on page 3. Before that is mostly outlines and ideas.)

This is and always has been an open project----anyone may contribute as much or as little as they like, and if we can make it fit in logically, it'll be added. The registered version of EV Nova is required to use plug-ins such as this----not my choice, that's just how it is. But you can still contribute whether you have EV Nova or not.

In closing, we're hoping to have a preview version of this mod publically available by September 30th, but anyone who contributes on a significant or continuing basis will be allowed to assist in alpha testing, and download current versions whenever they like.

I mentioned this on your board, but I'll say it again here, since you seem to be moving forward. I'm an editor (among other things) by trade, so I'm happy to proofread anything you need checked. I'm also a big fan of EV, so I'm thrilled you're doing this!

You're welcome to give comments on anything in that thread I linked to. I've actually edited a lot of that already, though.

Your best bet would be to wait for the preview version, and give us feedback on that contents of that.
