I didn't think I was imagining a backslide in the prices on refurbished PCs over the last year. Not only had the amount of PC you'd get for the buck on this market stop trending upward (especially in all of 2021), but those prices have also started going up, meaning you're actually getting less for your money in 2021 on a used product than you were in 2020. It's not just the used car market.

I've been looking into refurbed PCs for a few years now and watching the bang for the buck steadily increase until Covidmania. Now the offerings seem less and less appealing every week as the prices rise.

And why shouldn't they be? I just found in the comment section of a video where a guy buys a scam "gaming PC" on Amazon and actually successfully makes it a gaming PC by putting a $500 graphics card into it. Well... It USED to be $500, but according to comments that card now goes for over $1,000.

This isn't the first time there have been chip shortages. It seems that a zebra farts in Africa and the prices of chips can go up. 4 or 5 years ago, the prices of memory were out of control. Now memory is fairly cheap, but processors and graphics cards are a ripoff.

Just like the rest of our production system, this is broke.

The only reason we're having problems now is because of shit that happened a year ago.

All the large corporations in the entire supply chain have "streamlined" things to a point that they automatically fail big whenever any little unexpected thing goes wrong. There's zero wiggle room.
