I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

I bring this up because it looks like Trump has outsourced his general foreign policy to Bolton: It was Bolton, not Trump, that knew ahead of time about the arrest of Huawei's CFO (Meng Wanzhou) which occurred while Trump and Xi were cutting steak together; and Bolton who is controlling when where and how Trump meets with Putin.

It's Kushner who convinced Trump that MbS is a swell guy and a reformer, and Kushner who's been advising MbS to weather the storm created by the Khashoggi murder.

Between the two of them, America's foreign policy has gone into the toilet.

I never expected Trump to restore the (real) economy- that would be a hard 20-year slog to reverse 60 years of depredation, and it would occur only if the Federal government could actually extend (or direct) investment into real production instead of financialization. I was mostly against Trump's domestic policy, but since Congress has control of that I never really considered it to be in the President's wheelhouse anyway. There are only a few things that a President has control over: foreign policy, foreign trade, military affairs, (but apparently not the security state!) and border control. I'm fairly happy with what Trump is doing about immigration. His stance on "free trade agreements" has been a 66% success, and imposing tariffs was an unexpected plus. (which btw will still not restore our economy).

But his constant warmongering is an unexpected disappointment.

Well, since Trump doesn't appear to be in charge of foreign policy, I guess I'll have to bone up on Bolton, since he seems to be the one in charge.
