I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

THIS DESERVES TO BE BUMPED! It is a complete, specific description about how our corporate media serves ONLY corporate interests.

And, on the heels of this video... which deserves to be watched, it truly does... here is yet another example of corporate malfeasance.

Wellpoint (Owner of BC/BS) Targets Women with Breast Cancer
Quote:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Shortly after they were diagnosed with breast cancer, each of the women learned that her health insurance had been canceled. There was Yenny Hsu, who lived and worked in Los Angeles. And there was Patricia Reilling, a successful art gallery owner and interior designer from Louisville, Kentucky.

Neither of these women knew about the other. But besides their similar narratives, they had something else in common: Their health insurance carriers were subsidiaries of WellPoint, which has 33.7 million policyholders -- more than any other health insurance company in the United States.

The women paid their premiums on time. Before they fell ill, neither had any problems with their insurance. Initially, they believed their policies had been canceled by mistake. They had no idea that WellPoint was using a computer algorithm that automatically targeted them and every other policyholder recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The software triggered an immediate fraud investigation, as the company searched for some pretext to drop their policies, according to government regulators and investigators.WellPoint Counters Reuters Report of Targeting Breast Cancer Patients

That, along with the finance sector's greedfest which drove our economy over a cliff, should demonstrate what is WRONG with our present situation:

Corporations, corporations, corporations.

Let's hang 'em from the nearest security camera.

And, in light of that...

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Thanks for bumping this, Sig - I've been meaning to watch, but have gotten a bit sidetracked... It's on my list, though.

I'm curious, though - and if I'm mistaken, forgive me, because as I said, I haven't watched it yet - but why is Fox being slammed for killing the story? I haven't heard anything about it on ANY of the networks; aren't they culpable as well?

Maybe the vid will explain it all. Maybe.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Well, it explained it to ME, and I'm sick, as usual. WHY won't someone...well, I know the answer: Money. It still sickens me.

Falsifying the news isn't against the law??? How can that be? Sure, they've got the freedom of SPEECH, but I never knew there was freedom to LIE like that and present it as NEWS. We need some kind of protection (hahahaha). They should have pursued it. Of course, even if it got as far as the Supremes, given the makeup of the court, they'd have done the same no doubt.

Gawd I'm sick...not just of FauxNews, but of all the MSM and how we get fed pablum as "news". Admittedly FoxNoise is the very worst by far, and has absolutely NO conscience whatsoever, but this just has me spitting nails.

If only...if only there were some news organization out there that reeeely wanted to go after FixedNews and expose them to the whole world. No doubt their monied lawyers would make it extremely difficult, but someone with guts SHOULD! Roger Ailes, that damned Ozzie, Cheney, Rove and Dumbya: Five candidates for a quick trip to HELL!!

Well, that started my morning off with a bang, dammit. I want to know about these things, but it's sure depressing.

Now we just have to wait for the ClusterFox syncophants to come in and defend them...I wonder what defense they'll come up with?

"Free" market (despite having partial monopoly) and "Free" speech (despite advertising fiction as fact) and of course the holy worship of so-called "capitalism" which smells more like Italian Fascism to me, given it's a dead-bang match.

Hell, their arguments are so much pre-loaded conditioned-response stuff handed off to em by their masters (who, coincidentally, care NOTHING for them) so that they don't have to actually, yanno.. THINK, that it can be predicted nearly verbatim - which is kinda fun when you can provoke em into making mutually contradictory argument "retorts" side by side just by pushing the right buttons, often causing them the mental equivalent of a windows bluescreen error, to which they respond with the squalling rage and hatred that is the true face under those polite masks of theirs.

It also annoys the everliving crap out of people to recite their own counter-argument word for word and then trash THAT, before they get it out of their own mouths, used to do that to religious folk when I was a kid - no wonder they hated me.
