Neither do I, I just don't live in the world where every Muslim is out to get me, torturing them is ok, and George Bush is the second coming of Christ. Now that's a fantasy, but many of it's believers see it as realism...
Quote:

The real world ain't like that, not in the least. And it upsets your apple cart when I correctly label the islamo fascists for what they are.
You're the one who throws childish temper-tantrums when someone doesn't agree with you that George Bush is the second coming of Christ, here to eradicate all Muslims from the face of the Earth. Not all Muslims are terrorists, not even a seizable percentage, and it upsets YOUR apple cart when I correctly point that out.
Quote:

You call me 'bigoted' because YOU don't like it when groups of folks are painted all one color. Well, guess what..... i'm not the one painting them that color, they are.
No, I call you a bigot because you make statements that are clearly designed to say all or nearly all Muslims (actually I seem to remember a thread where you out-right said "it's not all Muslims, but it is most") are evil terrorists, which is bigoted, not to mention stuff about any other country and population on Earth outside the United States. It really is you painting them all with a single brush, just because you then try to make yourself sound more reasonable, by attempting to retroactively change the meaning of your sentences, and the whole English language, doesn't change that.
Quote:

As the quote by Dennis Praeger in my sig clarifies below.
In that case, you won't mind:
"It's not those that use the term "Americano-Fascists" giving Americans a bad name, it's the Americano-Fascists."
Quote:

You're the one who wants to use the broad brush on ME in accusing that I view ALL Muslims that way, which I don't.
Uhuh, so I'm supposed to ignore the hundreds of times you've done it, and I haven't, on your say so... Hey this is like every other thing you do and say "don't look at what AURaptor actually does and say, look at what he wants you to think."

If you actually believe any of this, you're the one living in a fantasy world.
Quote:

But it's easier for you to carry on your pathetic little life if you simplify things down to their lowest common denominator... ' Pushy American hates foreigners " blah blah blah.
Yeah, talking to you is real easy... Seriously though, it's funny how you don't get it, when the only person on this site who doesn't have a low opinion of you is Finn, who acts like a colossal troll most of the time himself, and Kirkules, who seems to have started down the same road. Most people might start to think it's something they're doing, not you though. You just assume it's everyone else that has the problem. That's funny, in a really sad kind of way.
Quote:

I can already predict what you're going to say..... " You hate all Muslims, even though you say you don't. "
Yep, spot on, doesn't make it any less true. I can predict what you say in near every post, and have done before remember . I can predict the broad sweeps of the next topic you post, it goes like this "Bush was right/is great" or "all Muslims are terrorists! But I don't mean all Muslims, just most."

You're record doesn't change, you say the same thing over and over and over and never listen to reason argument nor evidence. So you can't expect the responses to change...
Quote:

i state my views on something, you have no rational / coherent response to my comment, other than to call me a liar.
That first part should read "i state Rush Limbaugh's view on something,"...

You don't deserve a rational coherent response. when you get one you throw a wobbly and turn it into a flame war, since that's all you ever want here, I'm just giving you the end game so you can fuck off back down the slimy hole you came out of that little bit quicker.
Quote:

You have nothing to prove that I'm lying, only your bruised ego , by being humiliated , again, in front of all your 'friends'. So, call me a liar, call me a name, that still won't change the facts.
You seldom have anything to back up what you say, beyond Rush Limbaugh's say so. Trust me AU, you always slink off thinking you've won, and that you've shown me up, but you're always the one who ends up looking like a fool, it's just you don't have the where-with-all to realise it.

If you were half as interested in open honest discussion of facts as you say you are, we wouldn't have a problem. I've discussed things with people I disagree with here, all the time in fact, without problem. It's a small few that have shown themselves to be unworthy of seriously bothering with, and you're one of them. When was the last time you actually had a debate with anyone you disagreed with? Be honest, because if you're honest it's never happened here in the RWED once. You're first post is all ways telling us all how the world really works, like it or lump it. You're second post will be telling any detractors that they're a pin-head, a terrorists, a coward who can't face the real threat, blah blah blah, with no attempt at actually addressing what they said beyond "I don't agree with what you said so you don't have a point".

The escalation of insults here was every bit as much to do with you as it was me. It takes two to tango ACRAPter, not one. You're as much to blame as me, but typical of you its always someone else's fault. You're perfect, they're all at fault. Just like every argument you ever make about anything.
Quote:

Facts like how some, but not all, Muslims have a zealous , hateful and twisted view of their own religion, and they'll stop at nothing to convert or kill those who don't agree.
Yeah I agree, but it's a tiny minority, and you're the one who throws the term 'Muslims' around, which without clarification MEANS ALL MUSLIMS. Take a glance upward. By all standard interpretations of the English language, every time you've mentioned Muslims the sentences was aimed at them all. I can't help what you typed.

I'll do you a deal. I'll drop it, if you do. If you really want honest debate of FACTS I can do that, I just don't think you can. But if you're willing to try, so am I.

Umm, Cit - while your mileage may vary, I have indeed had rational discussion with Rap on rare occasion, so just cause he mostly goes on with beliefs most folk consider idiotic doesn't mean he's not capable of rational discussion whatsoever, just sayin.

And he's got a right to believe the things he does, no matter how anyone else feels about it.

Callin the guy on his conduct is one thing, but flaming him for holding a belief is kind of a thin line there and pretty close to what you are accusing him of, and what he accuses most of the middle east of - you ain't gotta agree with someones held beliefs to respect them, mind, but respect them you should.

Not that I like him either, but if yer going to lay into him like that, you should restrict your slams to his conduct, cause otherwise you find yourself participating in the very same behavior that you are flaming someone for, and that looks all manner of stupid to an outside observer.

Just sayin,

Really, when? Let me guess, you were largely agreeing with him at the time, that's the only time I've seen it happen.

He can be rational, when all are in complete agreement, the moment there's opposing viewpoints, I.E. an actual debate, he stops being reasonable.

And a bonefide Nazi has the right to hate all Jews, doesn't mean they're any less of a fascist bigot.

I'm sorry Frem, but you don't respect the beliefs of people who want to force theirs on you. This is much the same thing. You should respect peoples right to hold a belief, and in many cases respect the belief itself, but not always. I don't feel the need to respect fascism or bigotry.

No Frem. I'm saying he's a fascist bigot for what HE says. That's not bigotry or anything like what he does. If I said "Americans are Fascist Bigots", because of what AURaptor says, you'd have something, but I don't. I just say AURaptor is a fascist bigot, because of what AURaptor says . There's a big difference.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Exactly. You don’t assume wolves are not a threat simply because they are far away or you’re not the one they are attacking. Downplaying threats like this is exactly the kind of mindset that brought us 9/ll. If you ignore the wolf population long enough, sooner or later, one will find its way into your camp.
We're reaping what we've sown. We installed the Shah of Iran, a corrupt tyrant, which lead to the Islamic revolution. We played footsie with the Saudis, a fundamentalist monarchy, who excused their excessive wealth by secretly funding even more radical preachers. We aided the Afghanistani jihadists ourselves because at the time we thought the Soviet Union was the "real" threat. Not to mention that we took out Saddam, who was one of the few secular tyrants in the region, destroyed Iraq and let loose the hounds of religious fervor.

And it was all for nice, cheap oil so our oil companies could rake in trillions of dollars over the decades.

Right now the biggest problems are in Pakistan and Indonesia. The problem is, we don't have a consistent story to offer in reply. Our propaganda on behalf of democracy is tainted with our history of rapacious capitalism and destructive meddling, so our moral code (from their view) is corrupt. If we walked our talk we might have more credibility, but since we've aided an abetted so many tyrants in the past it's hard for us NOW to claim that we're the bringers of a better alternative.

I personally think that the only way to fight this is to take the high ground. We need to counter propagandize a story of democracy, freedom, economic justice, and education, and mean it. Any damn fool religious nutcase can say whatever he wants (and BTW we have our own religious nutcases saying basically the same thing) but it will fall on stony ground when people have basic education and meaningful control over their lives and their government.

But isn't that indeed what you're doing? Posting up stuff like this pushes your cause and your agenda - which, boiled down to its simplest terms, says that because others want to attack us and foist their systems onto us, we must first attack them and foist our systems onto them. So from your seat, when THEY say it, it just shows how evil they are, but when WE say it, we're just trying to protect our way of life.

You've repeatedly stated that the UN is junk, the US is the only superpower, and therefore the only voice that matters, yet you still ask us to believe that you DON'T want the US to take over the world?

I have to say just from the outside reading down the thread it seems to have taken an academic discussion to the level of a barroom brawl.

I am assuming that the two main participants are adults (which reminds me of parents getting into a fistfight at a little league game) otherwise it might just be abusive.

Some times that ain't necessarily a bad thing.

Imagine RWED as a kind of hybrid debate/boxing match, where the contestants are scored not only on the blow by blow, but also on their arguments and how they are presented for an overall account involving both.

While this one hasn't been very productive, that has indeed resulted in some extremely productive and thought inducing discussion - so many forums where this kind of thing is discussed are run by folk with agendas of their own, or at the very least sympathies for one side or the other, and thus most good and solid arguments that might come to some kind of compromise, agreement or even mutual abandonment when both sides wear themselves out are cut short before that point.

Here in RWED, there's no friendly ref to step in, you HAVE to make your point, and well, or you will get verbally cut to pieces by most, and quickly.

I generally avoid tearing a strip off someone newly testing the waters, but not all are so circumspect, just so ya know.

While this is a fairly extreme case, there's usually some element of personal smack in any discussion around here, and it varies in degree from tongue in cheek to downright bitter, sure - but much of the time the topic is being heavily picked apart and debated as well, in detail and length that just isn't found in more moderated boards.

Old school usenet probably comes closest in similarity.
You might find this link entertaining, given it's applicability here.

Yes Kennesaw is in the burbs of the Atl. (Everything is in the Burbs of ATL. It is not really a city but a Burb with high rises.)

As for an Armory well every girl needs to have her toys. Thank goodness I am not one of those gun-nuts who faint at the very idea of owning a weapon.

I always like to go a watch the parade at D*C. Dunno about the rest of the event though. Depends on my budget and travel plans.

I would be up for trying to catch lunch sometime with other BCs who are going, but I would want them to actually show.

I tried to meet up with some Brown Coats from this site two years ago. Talk about messy! 1 roomed with 2 (platonic). Then 1 hooked up with 3 maybe 4. 1 did not ask before preforming the midnight gymnastics and 2 freaked out. 2 disappeared in the middle of the night after witnessing the gymnastics of 1 and we didn't get to meet up. I did meet 1 but she decided that she didn't want to go out to lunch after all. 3 & 4 didn't show at all. None were seen on the site after that fiasco.

Moral if your going to "hook up" clear it with your rommie first.

I maintained my sweet tooth well into adulthood, and they all KNOW I have candy, little mungers...

My coworkers rib me about it too, but I usually carry close to half a pounds worth of brachs mixed hard candies in the upper left pocket of my old field jacket at work - all but one of the luxury special cabs are non smoking, thus the candy instead.

Hey Finn.....

If you read up, right after your last post, I had what I feel is an intelligent and well thought out post that I would like to hear your response to.

Unfortunately it was buried under the childish antics of Citizen and Auraptor for days on end. Actually, I had to just start skimming because I was getting pretty bored of it all, so I'm only 80% sure when I say that they killed the thread and that my post was the last intelligent post that related to the original topic at hand. Fortunatly the beautiful Foster came around and was able to tame the boys down some, and call them out for their idiocy.

I'd love to take this conversation back up with you though, if they can manage to step aside or bring their douche-baggery to Troll land if it really needs to continue.
