Obviously, this idiotic virtue signal was not taken well, and there have been more calls for another boycott. I don't think that's going to lead to anything here though. First off, they sold that long ago to Unilever who owns 400 brands that you probably at least have seen if you don't actively buy them. Secondly, B&J unlike Bud Light/InBev know their core customers and chances are more likely than not that if you wouldn't appreciate a statement like this coming from them on Independence Day than you probably weren't paying for their extremely overpriced ice cream anyhow. So I'll probably link this post to the boycott thread, but I don't expect anything to come out of it.

But that's not where the story ends...

B&J's big virtue signal here was specifically regarding land that once belonged to the Lakota tribe in South Dakota, and calling for Mount Rushmore (a symbol of the white patriarchy, you see) to be taken down and given back to the natives.

Though B&J may have known their customers a lot better than Bud Light did, you really should be careful when you make the decision to throw stones in this very, very big glass house we all live in together here. I mean, technically, it could be argued that any square inch of land in the US and Canada was owned by somebody else at some point, so it was only a matter of time before somebody decided to re-claim the "stolen" land that B&J's headquarters sit on. And it didn't take long.

Chief Don Stevens of the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation says they want their land back, and Ben and Jerry's headquarters happens to be sitting right in the middle of it.

My guess is that B&J and Unilever are going to go radio silent for a while and hope this just falls out of the news cycle and people forget about it.

Don't let that happen, Don. Stick it to 'em. They opened the door wide for you. Don't let them close it.

There appears to be 1,400 members recognized in your tribe now. Assuming an even split, if you were able to get a settlement out of Unilever for $100 Million, that would be around $71,000 each member. Not exactly life-changing money, and probably way too high a goal for a settlement in the first place, but I'm sure that any amount of money would be a welcome addition to everyone's bank accounts in 2023.

Or, you could really drag this out and possibly eventually win that land, after spending decades in the courts. That would be amazing to see.

And this message is directly to Ben & Jerry's current ownership...

You're in the middle of a war now, and you've just made yourself a casualty of it. We've had 15 years of chronic virtue signalling from the Left, and as I've stated before, NONE of you under the umbrella of Social Justice actually have any common ground. So when you make tweets such as this to get likes from your mostly white/mostly rich customer base on social media, you stuck your face out of the fox hole and just got your head shot off.

Shut up and sell ice cream.

That is all that is required from you.

What are we gonna do? Give back the entire USA? Set up "preserves" for the remaining indigenes? Pay rent? And, since like with blacks there was a lot of intermarriage, how much "native" do you have to be, how do you prove it, and how do you trace any particular native to their supposed original home land?

Some injustices, like some injuries, can't be healed.
