Just so ppl don't have to click on links, the story abot the NYT begins like this

Quote:

On Tuesday, the public learned that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes. Just a few days before that, the public learned that the “Russian Bounty” story was fake. In other words, in the span of a week, the “newspaper of record” has been exposed for grossly misleading the public about two major stories — both designed to discredit President Donald Trump.

The NYT has published so many lies, I wish there was a way to get its business license yanked. But since that would be censoring a publisher ... yanno, like the way corporate social media censors everyone else ... y'all just have to be careful about what you read, and go to MULTIPLE sources to find the truth.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

There are multiple parts to both lies.

Breaking down the first one:

The NYTimes "... claimed that, after being struck and suffering a “bloody gash on his head,” Sicknick “was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support” where he later died." Why did they headline a story based only on (as they claimed) unnamed-"sources"? As the so-called national paper of record, one would assume they'd want to check their facts before going forward.

The second problem is that they had nothing beyond that(those) anonymous source(s). There were no videos, no photos, no official statements ... in short, no EVIDENCE.

The third problem is that that didn't stop the explosion of echoes in the m$m, because, apparently, the act of merely repeating someone else's story - albeit with banners and bullhorns - absolves all other news reportage from verifying the facts. (This story was mutiply echoed and expanded despite the information that was coming out that Sicknick went home 'in good spirits' and only later went to the hospital where he died - which SHOULD have created SOME caution about the NYTimes story ... but didn't seem to slow the entire circus down one bit.)

But the fourth and most serious issue are people just like the people here, who believe every story that confirms their fantasies, and never, EVER seem to stumble over the lack of EVIDENCE.

This is an issue that comes up over ... and over ... and over ... and over ... and over ...

... from bin Laden done dood it, to WMDs, to the Russian doping 'scandal', Assad 'gassed his own people', Russian-Trump "collusion", the 'insurrection' at the Capitol ... and so on.

And what makes those people laughable isn't that they believe a lie. It's that they believe those sources, over ... and over ... and over ... and over ... and over ... that have been proven to lie to them in the past, over ... and over ... and over ... and over ... and over ..., and never seem to learn from experience.

Even Roombas eventually learn, but those people never do.

That is illogical.
Why not just avoid the ones who have proven, time and again, that they cannot tell the truth?
What you are saying is akin to checking ALL answers to evaluate the opinions of what 2+2 are equal to: 3, 2, 5, 7, 1, or maybe even 4. If nobody answered 4, then just use one of the other answers, because all opinions are equally valid, right? Instead, you should confirm that all of the wrong answers are wrong, and then mark them as wrong, and not use them as standards by which to measure correct, factual, honest, truthful answers.

Well, much of what we "know" is beyond our personal and immeidate verification. It's not like 2+2=4, which I can count on my fingers.

Many things that we "know" come from sources, whether it's a chemistry textbook, the NYT, or Facebook.

And since much of what we "know" comes from other sources (and not immediate epxerience/ beyond personal verification) we depend on them. And there is no ONE source that will tell you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Even if those sources aren't deliberately lying (and there are plenty of M$M ones that do!) everyone will publish or speak from unquestioned assumptions, limited knowledge, and focused attention. So China will focus on Chinese affairs from a Chinese POV, Russia on Russian affairs and so forth. The problem of the blind men and the elephant.

And EVEN KNOWING that a source lies, deliberately and repeatedly, it pays to know the direction of their lies and what they're trying to do with them.

For example, it's pretty clear that the NYT promotes war and supports neocons. Also, the NYT is deliberately driving wedges between Americans of all stripes: men and women. old and young, white and POC, blacks and everyone else, heterosexual and everyone else, Democrats and Republicans.

THE ONLY TIME THEY REMIND US THAT WE ARE ALL AMERICANS IS WHEN THEY WANT TO GIN UP A WAR.

Why would they deliberatey stoke hostility between fellow Americans? Well, IMHO they want to destroy America and the concept of the American nation.

Why would they want to do that?

Because their interests lie elsewhere. Across the globe.

Every commercial, every TV show and movie, every political speech, every religious sermon is trying to convince you of something. Not just here, but everywhere. You should know what that is.

Be wary and cautious.
Libtardism is an infectious disease, highly contagious.

There are too many worthwhile sources providing mostly truth and honest reporting, to waste so much time reviewing known fiction paraded as non-fiction, such as WaPo or NYT, CNN, PBS, CBS, NBC....

Like, what sources?

Since Youboob has started shadow banning, demonetizing and censoring so much content, it's hard to find anyone who has two neurons to rub together anymore.
So if you have decent sources, please share!

Have you looked in the Conservative Media thread?

http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=63248

One I keep hearing is LevinTV, which sounds like a long-form interview, if you enjoy the topic. I hear it is on Fox (or FNC) on Sunday evening. It used to be in a late night death slot, but the rating were too high so Fox moved it to primetime, where it apparently beats the other networks in the ratings, even NFL Football. It might be also available on podcast, on demand. Levin repeats that he does not endorse Fox, but he will allow them to broadcast the show, and he'll continue doing the show as long as folk are watching it - when viewership goes down, he'll switch to something else.

That Headline of the day site has more stuff than I have time for.

I neglected to answer your direct query.

I thought most folk had switched from Uboob to Rumble.

I would appreciate it if you could provide feedback on this rumble, how you like it or not, if you try it.

I don't use Uboob, except what is on here.

Former NFL star Burgess Owens, now a freshman congressman from Utah, testified last week before the Senate, fighting back against President Biden's claims that voter ID laws are "Jim Crow in the 21st century."

"What I find extremely offensive is the narrative from the left that Black people are not smart enough, not educated enough, not desirous enough of education to do what every other culture and race does in this country: get an ID," Owens testified. "True racism is this: It's the projection of the Democratic Party on my proud race. It's called the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Democrats couldn't possibly be more racist. It's quite astounding actually.
