Sumwhere around a billion iz wut I think the human population shoud be for the Earth. Its more than enuf to be safe from extinction from a local dizaster but not too many for the ecosystem to handle.

We are way the hell past that and the ecosystem iz crumbling under the strain. Eventually sumthing will break and a global famin will wipe out most uv us.
Anybody whoz having more children now iz just creating that much more mizury. The more humanz there are the sooner it will happen.

There are a variety uv thingz that can happen befor that to kill off most or all uv us, but I think ecolojical collapse iz the most imminent.

Wen I watched Bernie Sanderz being interviewed at that cristian university with thouzandz uv so called pro-liferz cheering, it made me think about how many fliez a single unburied corpse will jenerate. Multiply that by 8 billion
and you can imajin there will be continent wide swarmz buzzing for months. Fliez only liv for a few weeks, but they lay thouzandz uv eggz.

So, pro-life iz essentially a quantity over quality pozition.

The corpsez will support a vast number uv indiviual livez, sumthing like 2 or 3 magnitudez above a quadrillion. (I dont know the name for thoze numberz).

A rezonable pozition.

I am not an athiest, but not relijus either. I think the idea that there coud be a creator uv the universe iz a worthy avenue uv research that organized relijun turned into a partisan issue in their war on siense.

Even tho peeple breed without considering the consequensez no matter their relijus opinion, the Catholic church and their Bible urjing everybody to 'go forth and multiply' with no stated limit sertainly iznt helping the situation.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

The best way to reduce population growth is to educate women. The second-best is to provide contraception. The third best way is to give women an alternative function in society beside being breeders and mothers. The next best way is abortion.

There was, in ancient Rome, and plant which apparently had such a high level of phytoestrogens is acted as a reliable birth control agent. It was called silphium, but apparently was driven to extinction due to over-harvesting or overgrazing. Ancient and prehistoric peoples have always had birth control, although sometimes it was in the form of infanticide. It's only the crazy line of Xtianity that have this belief. Heck, even Islam allows abortions.
