I got home not a half hour ago, at 7 pm. I was out and about in the city, feeling sad that there was no snow and no chance for snow.

I just looked outside and hey - white stuff on the ground! Not at all forecast.

:)

Merry everything, folks.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

So very good for you!

I miss the snow, altho my East Coast relatives tell me I'm crazy. Here on the West Coast, we're missing rain. Lots of it. Second record-setting dry winter in a row. The weather forecasters are all promising "great weather" for today and tomorrow- dry, sunny, and temps in the 80s. And ppl are happy about this???? I hope we get some rain for the New Year!

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Ditto what Sig said. Since there's no traffic, I took the guys up Santa Rosa way to do a trail we found recently. It was in the 40s down here, but 31 by the time we got up there, and everything was sparkling like diamonds in the sun. Great way to start Xmas.

Going the wrong direction to see the "diamonds" (they wouldn't have shown up anyway shooting into the sun), but trust me, everything frosty just after sunrise. You can have your snow, quite cold enough for me!

Happy Whatever to everyone.

(ETA: Don't hold your breath for rain, Sig, long-range forecast is another drought year. Our lakes have kept us from suffering what the rest of you have, but if the forecast holds, we're in "drought" officially now too. So we finally get to join you...dammit.)

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I admire your stamina regarding snow. But I'm not going to rain on your parade (though to me that'd be a good thing!). I might snow on it for your enjoyment though.

Merry! and HAPPY!
